Which FCS Conference could APP St. Win in 2010

Before moving off of ASU and onto another 2009 Conference winner, I wanted to piggy back of the earlier poll as the discussion as it relates to ASU has been interesting.
Yes, I know it's only May, and there are some positions that have yet to be ironed out (like QB), but for the most part, you know what you have and will be playing with in the Fall. The only difference between now and then will be a xfer or two, and all of your incoming frosh.
With that, starting with App St., which or how many FCS conferences do you think APP St. could win (they don't have to go undefeated) in 2010

Big Sky 14%
Big South 17%
CAA 0
Great West 13%
MEAC 17%
MVFC 13%
OVC 13%
SOCON 13%
Southland 13%
ALL OF THEM 0
Seems right.

If I recall correctly...they have a pretty good track record against the CAA

AppSt last five years...
vs SoCon = 37-3 (.925)
vs CAA = 6-2 (.750)
Pretty good, but not great. Usually takes 7-1 to win the CAA.

Garbage in Garbage out. I believe all of the ASU CAA games were playoff games which means the best of the conferences are playing each other. The exception to that would be the JMU games.
But now on the the topic, who gives a shit they aren't in those conferences.

So are we saying "could", or that they would be the "favorite"? Because any top team could win any conference. I'm going to assume we mean favorite.

Yeah, comparing games against Western and playoffs games at Richmond is apples-to-apples

Not my fault none of the other SoCon teams can get out of the first round. CAA teams have to play other CAA teams in the playoffs all the time.

So they wouldn't have to face Richmond and JMU every year if they were in the CAA (premise of this thread)? Odd, the Hens do.

Yes, that will eventually happen when half the playoff field consists of teams from the CAA.

Not really. None of them face each other in the first round so some of them have to win to see each other. When the Big Sky gets multiple teams in the playoffs we hear the crying of how unfair that they're always one the same side of the bracket, yet it seems they rarely meet. Matter of fact, I think Montana vs Weber in 2008 was the only time two Big Sky opponents have met in the playoffs since before Idaho left the conference (CAA have had three matchups in just the last two years). Again, not my fault your other teams can't get past the first round.

I'm saying comparing App's conference mark to their CAA mark isn't fair. Their CAA record is ONLY against the elite, thus it is lower than what it
would have been had they been in the CAA. You know, beating up on Northeastern and Rhode Island and *coughDelaware*

Certainly they would win the GWC (they count dont they?). They would win the MVC too.

They certainly could win any of them, just like Montana, SIU, UNI, Richmond, Nova, UD, etc... could win any other conference in America most year.

We hold victories over Delaware, JMU twice, Richmond twice and UMass in that time. Our only losses are at JMU and vs eventual champion Richmond. I'd say we're doing good for facing the best of the CAA every year.

Just a bad use of numbers, and believe I know since I do it all the time

That's singular. Kind of like Grizzlies.

Since we're only in the SoCon, I vote SoCon.

Sorry, doesn't work against me since I don't care about the rest of the Big Sky
