Biggest non-conference game on your schedule

to all my fellow FCS fans out there...
Looking at your team's schedule, what do you think is the one game in your non-conference slate that you think could make or break your season...and if there is more than one you can list all of them. I really think that the back to back games @Ball State and @JMU are the big ones because those are the chances for a "signature win" on the schedule.

It won't make or break the season, but the opener against Delaware St.

Agree with JD...the SDSU game is huge on multiple levels for Delaware. Then again, we only have WCUPA and Duquesne to choose from outside of them, so they're the biggest game by default (No offense, Duquesne fans).

Agreed. South Dakota State by default ....shame the previously scheduled three-game series was abandoned by UD.

Real crap OOC schedule this year with FCS teams so it's gotta be the trip to "The Swamp" against the Gators.

Our game against South Carolina doesn't make or break the season, but since the last time we played them in 1982 was a victory and we have not been able to get them on the schedule since it is a big game for Furman.
Colgate - First game of the season. I hate to be over confident but we should win this game. On the other hand Patriot League teams seem to be able to get up for OOC games (see the playoffs) so a loss is possible and would be a devastating start to the season.
The other game is Howard, if we lose that one then fugitaboutit.

Probably the 10/2 road matchup against Lafayette. It's actually a "revenge game" for Harvard since they thrashed us at home last year.

For CCSU, it has to be opening week at New Hampshire.
We had a 4-game series in the late 1970s when both teams were D-II, and CCSU fans would probably like to think of UNH as a 'New England rival' but we need a great effort to gain the respect of Wildcat fans for sure. Central is 0-5 vs New Hampshire and except for a 1976 matchup it's been ugly for the Blue devils
10-18-1975 CCSU 0, UNH 28 at Durham, NH
10-16-1976 CCSU 21, UNH 34 at New Britain, CT
10-15-1977 CCSU 7, UNH 42 at Durham, NH
09-16-1978 CCSU 13, UNH 36 at New Britain, CT
08-30-2003 CCSU 20, UNH 70 at Durham, NH
CCSU has a lot of pieces to replace on offense, but if we could pull off the upset it should put the Blue Devils into the Top-25.

SDSU? Not West Chester or Duquesne? This is why Hens fans are real optimistic about the playoffs this year, 7 home games, no UNH & our toughest OOC game is SDSU, not that they're a slouch.

On the MVFC prediction thread they have SDSU at 8-3. It is a tough choice between them and WC or Duquesne, after all it is the MVFC.

Actually I was being sarcastic, as there is a marked difference between 2 cupcakes & SDSU. Actually UD has won the Gateway/MVFC twice in the past 7 years.

I'd say our second game, Davis. The first week Davis takes on Cal and we take on Arizona State, so we should both be pummeled into shape for the game. We're fairly even in experience and athletic quality; the main question mark is how well we do with our new Pistol offense. If we beat Davis it should indicate something about how the rest of the season will go. Forget about Arizona State and U of Oregon.

I'd say UND has two pretty big FCS out of conference games - @ Montana and @ South Dakota State the last two weeks of the season. Although UND is going to once again be a very young team, these games will give the Sioux an idea of how they stack up against the upper echelon of FCS. I'm really looking forward to seeing how things develop.
