One of only two seniors listed among the eight receivers in ASU’s preseason two-deep ... one of just three returnees who started all 15 games a season ago ... an all-state quarterback as a prep, Courman has been an incredibly reliable performer at receiver over his three seasons in Black and Gold ... fills the role of “possession receiver” with terrific hands and a knack for picking up tough yards after the catch ... expected to start at M receiver for the third-consecutive season.
2007: Started all 15 games at M receiver ... one of only six players to make all 15 starts for the Apps in ’07 (Pierre Banks, Kerry Brown, John Holt, Corey Lynch, Anthony Williams) ... ranked fifth on the squad with 18 receptions and seventh with 166 receiving yards ... also carried the ball seven times for 27 yards ... rounded out 210 all-purpose yards with one kickoff return for 17 yards in national semifinal versus Richmond ... was a key component of season-opening win at Michigan with a season-best three catches for 30 yards ... made one of the biggest plays of the day at the Big House on ASU’s final drive when he caught a short pass on an out route, but instead of stepping out of bounds to stop the clock, sidestepped a U-M tackler and raced upfield for a 20-yard gain that helped set up the Apps’ winning field goal in the final minute ... went on to catch multiple passes in each of the first four games of the season ... had a season-long 31-yard reception versus Northern Arizona ... following the initial four-game stretch, registered multiple receptions just twice again the rest of the season (at Furman and vs. Western Carolina) ... registered a season-best 14-yard run, in addition to two catches for 25 yards against Furman ... had a 25-yard catch in semifinal triumph over Richmond.
2006: Ranked fourth on team with 21 receptions for 227 yards (10.8 avg.) and two touchdowns on the season ... also ran the ball 10 times for 60 yards ... hauled in touchdown catches versus Gardner-Webb and in the postseason opener versus Coastal Carolina ... both of his touchdown receptions on the season covered 36 yards ... fell just one catch short of matching a season high with three receptions in the national championship game versus UMass ... played in all 15 games on the campaign, making 11 starts.
2005: Made an immediate impact as a true freshman, playing in 13 games and racking up 279 all-purpose yards (123 rushing, 141 receiving, 15 on kickoff returns) ... averaged 6.8 yards per rush ... in collegiate debut at Kansas, led the Mountaineers with 58 receiving yards on three catches, including season-long 44-yard reception ... caught three passes for 14 yards and rushed four times for 41 yards versus Western Carolina ... hauled in first-career touchdown reception, an 18-yarder, at Elon ... had an 11-yard touchdown run in national quarterfinal victory over Southern Illinois ... caught a pass in national championship game versus Northern Iowa.
High School: Led all North Carolina quarterbacks and ranked 10th in the state overall with 2,214 rushing yards as a senior ... accounted for 32 touchdowns (18 rushing, 14 passing) ... led East Carteret to 11-4 record and appearance in state 2A semifinals ... coached by Donnie Keifer.
