Montana was dissappointed to lose Dillon Romain to you guys but hey, he wanted to play close to home.

Here's the kid that got his scholarship. I think we might have done better.

Caleb Statham 5'10" 190, 4.48 forty (Last minute signing, was waiting on an FBS offer, UNLV and Washington St. were showing him love, Oregon State and Washington were also in touch)
Rivals 2 star, 5.2 Rivals rating. http://rivals.yahoo.com/washingtonpreps ... ham-102119

Well, its kind of hard to compare two kids that have never taken a college snap so we'll have to wait and see who ended up with the better recruit after a few years.

But Dillon Romain's highlight tapes and on-field accomplishments as the NJ Gatorade Player of Year appear a little bit more impressive than a kid who's greatest accomplishment is that he didn't get offers from UNLV or Washington St.

Here's a little taste from his prep year this year at Blair Academy.

Caleb will have to beat out our #1 RB recruit. The Washington 2A Offensive Player of the Year.

Brett Kirschner, 5'11' 200 lbs. Held offers from Air Force, Army and Washington State.

Image

According to scout.com, as a 2009 senior at Interlake, he ended up with 2,193 Yards total offense and 26 Touchdowns. Was named KingCo Conference 2A/3A Offensive Player of the Year. Selected to Seattle Stars – All Area Seattle Times Team, 1st Team All Kingco Conference Tailback, Evergreen State Preps All-State, The News Tribune All State, Bellevue Reporter Player of the Year, Bellevue Reporter All-Area Team and East West Washington Team/Game.

He was also named 2A Offensive Player of the year and State 2A Player of the Year.

This summer he was named MVP Running Back at Jason Gesser Elite Sports Camp and MVP Camp Athlete at Washington State.

But like I say we were very dissappointed about Dillon.

First of all - no one gets "offers" to Air Force or Army. They get spots on the roster if they can get in and if they want them, along with probably 10 or more other freshman RBs. Remember they have no scholarship limits - everyone gets a "scholarship".

Once again, I'm not really all that sure how saying you got a kid from Washington State is a real feather in his cap.

Why would Albany fans care if you were disappointed?

I find this whole thread kind of weird and way out of left field to be honest.

Come on, mr dane. You must like to play my co*k is bigger than yours or you wouldn't have come back putting down our recruits. I never once put down yours, in fact i said we were dissappointed. Then you come back and put down our guys and thumped your chest about your boys highlights. You like to play, admit it.

I like how the Romaine kid got the majority of his yards between the hash marks compared to sprinting to and down the sideline. But that's just me.

Between these guys and Nguyen and Moore our future is definitely bright at RB

Or another Chase Reynolds will come out of nowhere and start for 3 years and break every record we have

Nguyen's little brother is probably gonna end up here as well and he's supposedly a little bigger and as quick so that wouldn't hurt us either.

Could be, I just heard some idle talk about him a few months ago. I thought his senior year of high school was forthcoming so I may be way off. :?

I had heard the same thing, but the details sound a bit sketchy. I read that Western signed 24 kids from the state of Washington including the brothers of Peter Nguyen and John Kanongata'a, I'm not sure how accurate the information is though.

Finding a superstar in Drummond was brillant. What to do for an encore, finding a superstar in Ovando?

We will need to find someone other than Nguyen or Moore to fill the shoes of the succession of Reynolds, Hilliard, Green, and Humphrey. Both may be successful role players, but will not be change-makers - like CR.

Maybe we should start looking at Maupin, Paisley and Fossil. I'll volunteer. I need to find a place to get a good steak. Round here, it seems everyone wants to put all kinds of fancy sauces on it.

Good thing about Montana (the state). You can always get a good steak and not have to worry that it will come with shrimp or bleu cheese or tofu on it (yes, I said tofu).

Back to the thread, I actually thought it was about Albany getting a recruit from Montana. I did not realize that the recruit chose Albany over Montana.

This new recruit Jordan Canada is real fast. He played in the SoCal HS ranks and he just blasts by the DB's and accelerates away from them. He averages 13 yards per carry.

The Griz are going to use him at Wide Receiver.

I am a little confused though. Did he use #22/#21 for different years, or is #21 his little brother?

edit: Actually, never mind. The sign in the beginning has #22 and #8, so Jordan must of been #21 as a sophmore
