Special Teams Hole for UD

Reported in the Wilmington N-J today that freshman K Sean Baner that was supposed to be UD's kicker this season (never actually signed a LOI) has instead decided to goto Rutgers. With our regular kicker having graduated and nobody standing out in the Spring game, it looks like UD has some issues with the kickoff & placements part of the game. Punting, which hopefully we don't need much of, we're more than fine.

Maybe we'll adopt the Paul Johnson method and just eschew most kicks and go for it on most 4th downs within FG range?

Was Baner supposed to be the starter though? I thought there was another guy (Perry, a junior this year) supposed to be the kicker anyway?

Some of UD's best punters came out of various situations where we lost someone. I am not worried about it at this point, especially considering Sean Baner was unproven.

I noticed that in the NJ as well. Hopefully he'll change his mind. Supposedly Wagner could KO and he has a big boot so maybe that could work. We'll see! 8-)

First of all it's Tennent not Tennet. Like, "T-E-N-N-E-N-T... TENNENT.... TENNENT... VICTORY!!!"

Secondly, I don't trust too many people from Tennent either, but they do produce some damn good football players! If I do say so myself. ;)

Baner's coming to Delaware after all:

Article also discusses I-A ambitions of Nova, UD, JMU, ODU, and GaSt very briefly.

See...you just can't trust them! Apologies on the spelling of your alma mater, big D. My wife went there (and grew up just blocks from there), too...I should know better.

Very good news for the Hens, glad he either changed his mind or the N-J got the story right.

No big deal, lol. What year did she graduate?
