Microsoft a Montana move up donor?

This was posted on eGriz and I felt it was necessary to share here. I find it to be a complete joke of a statement, yet there's a few there that feel it to be possible. Discuss.

Think about it. Microsoft owns/sponsors losing programs: Trailblazers, Mariners, Seahawks, UW, maybe even WSU. Why not sponsor a winner: UM football? Microsoft has many Montanans in its corporate staff. Washington state is loaded with Griz fans, some regularly posting on this board. Microsoft is a northwest corporation that I think looks to not only WA, but MT as well, for its talent. I think Microsoft takes pride in its commitment to its northwest roots. UM has many WA & Idaho players on its roster. And, the connection between Seattle and Western MT is strong.

The Washingtons have done all they can (I think) for UM football. Some other well-heeled corporation has to step up, and MT simply does not have one on the scale needed. The Idaho football programs, as far as I know, were able to move up only because of massive private support. I would not be surprised, when the time comes (in 2 years?) if Microsoft comes through.

As far as I know, microsoft doesn't contribute a whole hell of a lot in terms of athletics to the Washington schools.....what makes anyone think they would do it for Montana? A bit far fetched, IMO.

Sorry Madman, I tried but after just a few posts I had to start skimming the bullshit. It is not a good discussion. It is truly some simpleton horseshit and dropping some names that have money and acting like they will give a shit about Montana moving up.

Let's say that there is some truth in any of these ideas.

If we need welfare from these sources and couldn't pull this off on our own should we even be considering it? Corporate sponsorships are great and necessary and all but they do it for a return on their investment usually and all I see in this fantasy idea is that we are gonna hold out our hand and think that someone is gonna fill it because UM Football is so deserving of the gratis. There is some silly, silly, silly bullshit bandied around about our place in the world by some that overvalue our existence.

Most of them probably post on eGriz under different aliases opposing a move up. Hey Mr. Butt hurt, I have the same user name on all boards. I am on egriz but specifically do not post there because this kind of shit goes on constantly. It's fucking sickening to look at so I stay on the national boards so as not to get too caught up in the myopic viewpoints of some Griz fans.

Is there some valid discussion on the topic? Hell yes, but the strange angles and fucked up thinking that brings about SO MANY of these threads is what gets a little overdone. What if the threads were just legitimate and not some guy throwing at a dartboard of silly bullshit ideas? That would be grand.

You think moving up is gonna be some grand step up and I just don't see it. I know for a fact that there will be a lot fewer games played in Missoula every year and I couldn't give a fuck about ANY bowl games except the top four or five and we ain't gonna get that chance to be in one of those the way the landscape is laying out currently.

I was going to games when they weren't a big deal as were guys like Kem and so forth that have been there for a long time. I've never missed one game in that stadium. I just don't want to see us fall back to a level where Griz football is not the biggest thing in town and having 1/2 or less of the people showing up every week that we currently do. I don't want to see us being an after thought in FBS. Kem doesn't agree with that and he's been fan & a former player for longer than I have and we can have rational unemotional discussions about it without getting our feelings hurt.

In other words stop acting all hurt that everyone doesn't share your opinion on the topic. I don't know, and you don't know what would happen but we can poke fun at each other about it anyway.
