Curious as to why you have CSU picked so low?

Why do you have VMI so low? It's a new day in Lexington. Plus, it's possible that three teams could finish 3-3. I don't see anyone going 6-0, either.

No matter, they'll be finger pointing on this site come late October. ;)

VMI is so low because you were 2-9 and 1-5 last year and you lose your top 3 players. Why would anyone pick you higher?

CSU was 4-2 in conference last season with a lot returning.

Yes, we lost our top 3 offensive players with the 2009 offense. VMI has overhauled the offense 180-deg., and, while we may need a few games to iron out a few things, this ain't your Uncle's VMI football squad anymore.

I hope you attend the game on Oct. 16.

We'll see. I feel like I've heard that before though.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make the game as I will be on my way back from vacation in the OBX. I did make it to Lexington 2 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I think the expectations for us are pretty low. We have a few transfers coming in and some solid players, but I am done with the "we're going to be great" notion and am in the "prove it to me" camp nowadays.

I'll give you that ;) ...........2009, VMI should have been at least 6-5. They were in all the Conf. games, except for that no-show in Lynchburg. And, they let the refs in the Army game get into their heads.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make the game as I will be on my way back from vacation in the OBX.

Going into the season last year, I predicted VMI would finish 2nd behind LU.

I'm too new to the conference to make an educated guess on the order of finish, but i will say that for SBU to finish as high as some predict, they will have to get solid play all season at the QB position. With the young soph stepping in last year, it'll be interesting to see who takes the lead since a juco guy has also come in if i recall.

Good debate...although everyone that has Radford in their predictions, you do know that the Highs only have a club football team right?

I knew you would be the one to figure that out.

1. Gardner-Webb

4. Coastal Carolina
5. Charleston Southern
6. Presbyterian
7. VMI

Offensive Player of the Year - John Rock - Gardner-Webb
Defensive Player of the Year - Marty Patterson - Gardner-Webb
Coach of the Year - Steve Patton - Gardner-Webb

I'd be doing my boys a disservice if I didn't pick them to finish number 1. While we are breaking in a new QB, John Rock has shown pretty good ability to accurately air out the rock. Defenses that only had to cover 25 yards last year against the accurate, but short throwing, Doolittle are going to now be spread much thinner. This should open up opportunities for GW to be more effective on offense. We are also returning a slew of experienced starters including Corey O'Daniel and Jamie Dunaway and the balance of the O line, RB Patrick Hall, TE Josh Miller, WRs James Perry, III and Marquis Sanders, DE Jordan Woods, LBs Marty Patterson, Jeffrey Williams and Dami Teniola, and DB Cedric McGowan. If GW starts the season off with a W against D.I Akron, this will give our boys a big boost and should help set the stage for an interesting season.

DPOY - Marty Patterson, GWU
OFPOY - Mike Brown, Liberty
COY - Danny Rocco

1 - Liberty
2 - GWU
3 - SBU
4 - CSU
5 - CCU
6 - VMI
7 - Presby

G-Dub finally gets a W against Coastal, the home team loses again in the SBU vs GWU game and after losing 2 in a row in Charleston, the Dawgs get the win. Liberty ruins GWU's shot at a championship in Lynchburg unless for some reason Mike Brown doesn't play. For sure, GWU will probably log the most combined miles via the air and bus with road games in Akron, OH; Huntsville, TX; Norfolk, VA; Charleston, SC; Long Island, NY; and Lynchburg, VA. Will any other BS team log that many miles this season?

To my LU friends, you gotta admit that last year's GWU/Liberty game at least for the 1st half and first 1/2 of the 3rd qtr. was uncomfortably tight, of course then things went south in a big way.

You forgot CSU, but im not offended ha.

Yes, the first few minutes last year were pretty tight, but we were pretty all over the place the first half of every game last year. This year the team will have matured, because we wont have such a young team
