Ok so I had a revelation

So I just got done dealing with this, insert slanderous word here, guy and he brought up Montana football. I didn't want to talk to him anymore so I didn't really respond to his critiques of this years team. Then he went off on last years team and how the Playoff's were stacked against UM and how the people that decide who goes where for the playoffs and that they are just a bunch of money grubbing bastards and they don't like to see Montana in the playoffs.

I was so puzzled that I couldn't speak. The only thing I could say was " if the people that decide on who goes where in the playoffs don't like Montana but love money, wouldn't they want Montana to go as far into the playoffs as possible????" He didn't get it and told me to fvck off.

I am still a little puzzled.

No, I was eating lunch and was reading the sports section of the Missoulian about the Griz. He just was talking to the bartender, I was not drinking I was just having lunch, about Griz football and noticed I was reading about the team. It went all down hill from there.

Oh man, I wish I had been there! I love those situations. I always ask what they mean by that and try to figure out what twisted riddle they have concocted in their heads and then start rolling the "fact train" and see what they have for answers. I love passionate people that don't think things through they are so easily defeated in arguments. You'd be surprised...a lot of times it will lead to me pissing them off enough that they want to take a swing at me...which is what I was really going for in the first place.

Well I will "come in swinging" as Appaholic likes to put it, next time we meet up.

Oh hell Grizza, you don't wanna do that...if you hit me and I find out about it then there's gonna be some serious trouble for you and I don't want to have to feel bad and send a bunch of apology letters to your family. Plus, I like your dad and that would just make things awkward.

If I read this correctly, the guy was implying that the FCS "people behind the curtain" have somehow orchestrated a "scheme" to keep the Griz out of the playoffs? For financial motive?

OK, be honest Grizza & UAH...

Alcohol + Missoula resident + Griz fan = Space aliens ref'd last years loss.

His reasoning makes no sense but what I have heard from disgruntled people was that Montana (and Wofford) got screwed by having to play in the first round when Delaware and UMass got patsies to play in the first round. The SoCon champ should not be rewarded with a trip to Missoula in the first round and Montana should have had an "easier" first round game. That is the crying that I have heard.

For last year I can absolutely agree but it happens all the time. Look at Youngstown and JMU a couple of years ago. If it happened to ONLY us then it might make some sense. We always seem to get a fairly tough team because we are not loaded with the kind of patsy's out here that the CAA and SoCon seem to be able to get in their houses in the first round. :P

Patsies like JMU.......now, who did they beat to win the NC in '04? It's a good thing you got to meet Woffod in WaGriz....hey would have beaten you by 30 in Sparkletown.....

Listen here drunky druggerton. I was saying that a dumb ass spouting off that the Griz are the only team that gets a tough draw in the first round is bullshit. I was stating that both Ytown and JMU were very quality teams that got matched up a couple of years prior to our match up with Wofford. I called NONE of these teams patsies...especially JMU as they have actually beat us.

I will however have to defer to your judgment on Wofford and Montana as you have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to losing to both of these teams.

Ouch.

And it's a good thing for you SoCon fvckers that our kicker decided to miss his ONE kick all year at the end of the game against Wofford.  :x :x :x :x :x :x

We can't really use that as an excuse AZ, I mean if we start using excuses like that then Appa is gonna come back and say something like "well you guys are just lucky that our running game didn't show up for that game, I mean seriously we had less rushing yards than we had attempts!" We really don't want to get into that kind of a pissing match.

Or.....our team has more national titles than Montana.....or our kicker missed a field goal and that's why we lost to the Griz last century, the only time the Griz would man up and play App (in WaGriz mind you).....or, you're lucky the griz doesn't have to play in Socon as they would be hard-pressed to make the playoffs, much less win the conference......I can go on and on.....and....and.....

I'm sorry Appa, but that game was no more last century than your titles are. We also missed a field goal. The Griz played here in Missoula due to the playoff committee correctly deeming us the better team in the playoffs so not much we could you do for you on that one. Other than that game I don't remember App having the guts to come back and play another one here. Now I'll admit that the Socon champ was a tough one last year and they did sneak out with a win but you need to keep telling yourself how tough the Socon is in relation to the Big Sky and pay no attention to the fact that you played the 2nd and 4th place teams from the Big Sky last year at your house and both of them nearly took you down. I'd have to say that the level of our top teams to the Socons is fairly equal but you know keep telling yourself what you need to man.

I thought Cap'n Cat told me one time that he was trolling around some porn site once and he saw Appaholic getting peed on and loving every second. He even went as far as to suck up every last drop from the carpet.

So taking a piss on him might be a good thing.

This game was played in 2000, correct? The 100th year of the 20th century? And we are currently in our 21st century.....technicality, I know....and technically, you need to rephrase your statement to state the top TEAM (not teams) of the Big Sky are comparableto Socon....which, in the case of this past year, would be false as well seeing how when your 4th place, 2nd place and !ST PLACE teams met a socon foe, the Big Sky team limped home with a loss......we'll be waiting in Chatty again for you, but I doubt you'll leave WaGriz.....

You are correct, we lost to the same Socon team that you lost to. We beat the same Big Sky teams you beat. The difference here between us is simply this...you like to set yourself up as superior because you have had a good run. Instead of letting others notice and congratulate it on their own you have this need to keep slapping at others and saying "hey, look at us we're really good!" It's OK, we've been at the top of the heap and didn't see you there, the same can be said for you guys. You're new to this and when you become comfortable in your own skin you will feel less of a need to pat yourself on the back so frequently. Until that time my friend I don't want you to worry...I will be here to guide you. You are welcome.

Nice work on the technicality though.
