FAMU: Not getting field turf just yet

Construction is underway to replace the grass at Bragg Memorial Stadium. The new grass will be natural grass. The campaign to add artificial turf will continue through football season with a goal of installing it before Spring practice.

If Rattler football is all that is played in that stadium, why go to field turf? I would have to guess that Tallahassee is a pretty good place to grow grass.
BTW, I'm not an agronomist, but starting new turf the second week of August?

there first home game isnt till oct 2nd, maybe that has somethin to do with it
