From 2008 NC ....to 0-11 (2010)

Having lost 15 five year seniors and having a new coach (the youngest in D1 Football) I think that there is a strong possibility that Richmond might be looking at a winless season. That's right....0-11 :o . Your thoughts???? :coffee:

My thoughts are that you are an idiot that never has anything nice to say about UR, either here, or especialy on the RTD site. Go back to the hole you came out of. I think it is just as likely that RIchmond goes 11-0 as it is 0-11.

I'm kinda happy that you couldn't figure out how to get a ticket to games this year.

If I could be so bold, I'd like to predict the spiders go 0-13. That's 11 games on the traditional schedule plus the two scrimmages they'll have in camp. I might even put them in at 0-15 for building a track around their field, and as an offshoot 'losing' one in the court of public opinion.

I actually think every team in the CAA will go 0-11.

If UR actually graduated this :dunce: in '76, we've been racking up losses for at least the past 34 years.

I thought Richmond dissolved their program after losing to App last year?

Not only did Richmond not dissolve their program after losing to Appy St last year, they built a shiney new on campus stadium! The only negative I see is that the stadium capacity is too small. As far as I know the last time that UR considered dropping the program was way back in 1979 after completing a winless season....0-11! Fortunately C. Robins came to the rescue with a few million $ and took the program off of life support! :thumb:

Sure am glad I was able to get tickets to the UD-UR game. Will I see you in the stands, jrj?

Unfortunately, probably not. Due to me living a long drive away from Richmond, I did not buy season tickets. Single game tickets were to go on sale the first of this month. However, by the first of this month there were no single game tickets available. All home games are sellouts. :o The UR ticket office person I spoke with said for me to call on early Monday of the week of the game and if any tickets have been returned, then I might be able to get some.

The dissolving the program comment was a joke man. What good is a new stadium if you don't have the fans to fill it? The Richmond turnout for last years 2nd Round game against ASU was PATHETIC - especially for a reigning National Champion.

I have a couple of theories as to why attendance at the UR/ASU game was poor on the part of the home team. First of all most of the population of the Richmond area would care less about gong to a Richmond football or basketball game. The vast majority of sports fans in the Richmond area pull for the FBS schools in our commonwealth (VT or UVA). Secondly, Richmond is a small private school with an undergrad enrollment of under 3,000. Richmond graduates around 600 to 700 alums each year. Meanwhile, your huge state schools like UVA, VT, the Barnies (JMU), ODU, and W&M graduate in the 1000s each year. Therefore due to the numbers, Richmond will always have a very small fan base. Those fans that UR has are loyal to their school. You state school folks may "sneer" at UR and the perceived lack of fan support. Actually, for its size, Richmond does pretty well in fan support.

As for the comment,"what good is a new stadium if you don't have the fans to fill it?"... Don't worry, all home games are sellouts. Sounds like Robins Stadium will be full to me :thumb:
