PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Played two seasons at Mt. San Antonio Junior College for a team that compiled a 25-3 record over those two seasons... twice played for the California Junior College State Championship. Mt. SAC won the title in 2009 and was also national champion... a national runner-up in 2008... as a freshman in 2008, Latu played in 14 games, making 68 tackles, six interceptions, broke up six passes, had three tackles for loss and one sack... in 2009, he played in 13 games, making 49 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception and three pass breakups... named first team All-Conference.
2009 Season: Played in all 11 games, starting six at receiver…doubled his career total with 19 receptions for 187 yards…caught a career high five passes for 44 yards at Montana State…had three grabs for 25 yards against Eastern Washington…also had a pair of catches against Weber State, Montana, Northern Colorado and UC Davis…longest reception was 19 yards at Northern Colorado…threw a 48-yard touchdown pass to Brandyn Reed in that same game…was the team’s lone punt returner…took back 16 punts for 76 yards…longest return was 15 yards against UC Davis…averaged 20.8 yards per kick return on six attempts with a long of 31.
2008 Season: Saw action in all 12 games…caught three passes for 36 yards and a touchdown…grabbed a 22-yard pass against Southern Oregon for his first career touchdown…caught two passes against Montana State…also returned four kickoffs for 60 total yards…had a long of 22 yards at UC Davis…returned seven punts for 58 yards, including a 14-yarder against SOU.
2007 Season: Played in 10 games as a receiver…ended the year with five catches for 66 yards…averaged 13.2 yards per catch…had a 22-yard grab against UC Davis for his season long…threw a pass for a 29-yard completion in the win against Northern Arizona…returned seven kicks for 126 yards…had a long of 24 yards at New Mexico…also returned a team-high 16 punts for 130 yards…averaged 8.1 yards per return and had a long of 18 against UC Davis.
2006 Season: Sat out the year as a redshirt.
