Are any other schools having flyovers for their home/season opener? I think ODU will have a flyover this year with two chinook helicopters which will also consist of two parachuters...one who will deliver the game ball.
Here's a video from last year's flyover...

Delaware doesn't typically have a flyover, but we did get a C-130 flyover from the DANG for the Delaware-DelState game last year.

Same with ODU, we're really close to Norfolk International Airport (about 15 minute drive) and we're always getting commercial jets flying over campus as well as other armed forces aircraft.

Youngstown State always gets C-130s for the opener. We are home to one of the largest C-130 bases in America.

Yep. We are treated to a minimum of one per game. Sometimes military planes or helicopters fly over too.

Navy gets (IMHO) the best flyovers in football.
Eye level with the pressbox at the 13 second mark.

The Mids go absolutely NUTS for the flyovers, too. Doesn't matter if it's the F-15s coming through or some of their larger aircraft. You get a real sense of the appreciation they have for their machinery.

Except that was an F-18.
Something tells me that they wouldn't have an AIR FORCE plane (F-15) flyover at a NAVY game.

We get flyovers at every home game. Of course we are right in the approach path to the Air Force base

Little Rock A.F.B. is well known as A biggie too. Maybe THE home of the C-130. But I'm not sure about that. I did however live on Loring AFB years ago....home of the B-52 bombers...man those were loud!
As for flyovers, I thought there was some law that said the planes couldn't fly directly over the stadiums. We usually have one fly over the visitor side but not directly over. It's usually a jet of some sort..like a F18 or something really fast. LOL. Unlike a C130.

I remember the jets practicing for the flyover before the 2007 NC game. At first, the pilot just flew over a few times. Then, without warning, he divebombs the field and pulls up just a few hundred feet above the stadium, maybe 100 feet above the pressbox, and friggin guns it straight up. I was pointing straight up for a few minutes after seeing it. Then all the UD fans started pissing on everything and ruined my good time.

Nah...they are too busy having it fly over NYC without any one knowing and freaking people out.

Yes...99% of them are on the tail end of a normal training mission...they don't just go up to do the fly-overs...
Each one has to be approved all the way up to the top of the Defense Department...they can only be for special occasions such as opening day...
Other fly-overs are done by private groups that fly vintage military aircraft...

Other have started answering this one...the Reserve base at Youngstown is just a little old reserve base with 12 C-130s...
Little Rock AFB, AR is the home of the C-130...there are 70 -100 based there...Pope AFB, Dyess AFB, Minn. St Paul all have must larger C-130 populations than Youngstown...and there are numerous Reserve and ANG bases around the country with 12...
