Bears waived UNI safety Quentin Scott. I expect Scott to be on someone's practice squad this year though.

Jets waive SFA DE/LB Tim Knicky. I could see him in the UFL or on a NFL practice squad. Hopefully someone keeps him around in the NFL.

So, Victor Cruz made the team...he played his butt off and deserves it...

Giants have not announced final cuts yet.

Broncos waived EWU TE Nathan Overbay. Not really shocked that he did not make the 53-man roster but his ability as a pass catcher should earn him a spot on a practice squad.

Chad Kakart (Jacksonville) and Sean Ware (Carolina) are still listed on the rosters. I haven't seen any news of cuts, so I'm hopeful. Any updates on those two situations would be great!

What's better nowadays? NFL practice squad or UFL playing time?

NFL teams are gonna look at a practice squad before they go UFL.

But wouldn't they be more improved for next season by actually playing?

Not if they're playing against lesser talent. PS players play against NFL caliber all week. The only difference between them and the 53rd man on the roster is playing on Sunday.

There's also the aspect of having an "in." If you're on a team's practice squad and they need a player, they're looking to the PS first.

Both teams have a lot of cuts to make. I don't see either making their rosters but could make the practice squad. I really believe they will both be in the UFL.

 They didn't really give him any playing time, at least that I saw. I hope you're right though about getting picked up to a practice squad. You think Nichols will make a PS also? I've heard the Rams might be interested in him.

I would say both are 50/50 to make a practice squad. Nichols probably has a better chance. Overbay just could not block well enough coming out of EWU. He really needs to go to the UFL and improve at it.

Texas waive NW State LB/SPT Isaiah Greenhouse. I really think he should be signed to someone's practice squad. He can really help in special teams.

Bears waive Montana OT Levi Horn. His size is rare so he could very well end up on a practice squad.

Giants waive Holy Cross QB Dominic Randolph. I really think someone should sign him to their practice squad. He makes good decisions and could be a real asset to some team as a scout team quarterback.

Lions waive Weber State WR Tim Toone. Not surprised. He should be on a practice squad although he is not very big and is older so that hurts him. CFL might be where he ends up.

Bad news for AE as Pat White has been released by the Dolphins. Not good when the first wildcat experiment in the NFL does not work.

Giants waive SHSU QB Rhett Bomar. Not good news at all. I really think he could eventually be a solid 3rd QB. Someone will give him a spot on a practice squad I would think.

Surprising with Jim Sorgie going down for the season. I wonder if the Giants will get Matt Leinhart as was rumored last week.
