Spiders only down 10-14 to their former coach and the Virginia Cavaliers at halftime. :thumb:

Loving this game. I'd be VERY happy to see Richmond walk away with a W :D

Final: Virginia 34 Richmond 13

As in many games when a FCS team plays a FBS team, the FCS often stays with their opponant for the first half, or through three quarters. Then the superior numbers, speed and strength of the FBS school "takes over" the contest.

Richmond was down 21-13 going into the 4th quarter. UVa scored an unanswered 13 points in the 4th to take command of the game.

Hopefully UR will break into the win column in two weeks when it plays its first game ever in a sold out Robins Stadium :thumb: .

Any updates on whether or not you think Richmond can win any football games this year. I think last time we heard from you there was a distinct possibility they were going to lay a goose egg through November.

Take away the two long runs and Richmond only gained 42 yards on 28 carries.

About two months ago I did say there is the possibility of UR going 0-11 in 2010. In my "hear of hearts" I sincerely hope this does not happen. I recall all too well the winless seasons of 1979 & 1982. These were very painful times for Spider fans. In another post I said that I can also see UR going possibly 6-5 this year. In tohight's game Parker and Corp were hurt...how badly, I don't know. Hope they were minor injuries. Richmond needs to do a lot of work on both sides of the ball. You cannot give up over 200 yards running and close to 300 yards passing a win very many games.

Corp did not get hurt. Parker did but came back into the game.

I hope this will not be a repeat of 1979. That season UR started the season with a crushing 0-31 loss to UVA,. The Spiders ended that dreadful year 0-11.. Jim Tait "got the ax!"
:blah:
