Liberty Flames (1-0)
Ball State Cardinals (1-0)

@ Scheumann Stadium, Muncie, Indiana

I will be in attendance for this one, probably my only chance to see my Flames in person this year. Has anyone been to a game at BSU? Familiar with how things are at the stadium? Seems like a decent, yet small, stadium. Attendance for their first game against Southeast Missouri State was about 15k under capacity, hopefully it's like that again and I get a chance to pick where I want to sit, rather than take my assigned, rather crappy, seat. ;-)

Anyways, about the actual game... this will be tougher than most LU fans will lead you to believe. We allowed St. Francis to control the line of scrimmage against us quite a bit, and Ball State is going to be worlds better in the O-Line and Running Back department. I have a feeling we're going to need to be aggressive with run blitzes and 8 men in the box, and hope to force passing situations, and then take advantage of mistakes BSU makes. Offensively I don't think we should have a huge problem moving the ball, especially if we open up our offense a bit more than we did in our "tune-up" game.

I think they will be able to run the ball against us. The issue is how dedicated will they be to running, and will we eventually "adjust" to the running game. Their QB was 10/17 for 85 yards and a pick (no TD's) against SEMO, so I don't see him as a huge concern. I am not sure if their ability to run against us is enough to overwhelm us and cause a loss.

We shall see. I am excited about our chance to play and win this game, tho.

I'll be pulling for the Flames. If im not mistaken this could be the first win the Big South has over an FBS school.

Liberty already owns a win against an FBS foe. Oct.1989 Liberty beat Eastern Michigan 25-24. EMU had previously been unbeaten going into that game.

Yeah but we weren't in the Big South then.

We didn't really know how St Francis was going to attack us. It took us one drive to figure it out. Go back and look at their offensive stats after that first drive. Not much. We know what Ball State wants to do. We'll be more prepared for it. I don't see BSU scoring more than 24. I don't see them keeping us from scoring more than 24.

I think we're good enough against the passing game we can crowd the line just a little more to help stop the running game. I'm really looking forward to this game. This week is huge for Liberty, it's there chance to show everyone how good they really are this yr! Im predicting Liberty wins 34-28.

Good 4th down stop by Liberty. Game's on Channel Surfing so I'm watching Ball State's terrible video. Love how they got a camera trained on the unreadable scoreboard and have it spliced onto the main shot.

X factor for Ball State was supposed to be special teams. P Matt Bevins for Liberty kicks ball down to 1 yard line!

Can't believe this game went off with Liberty as a 10 point underdog. They certainly aren't playing like the underdog!

This is what I'm talking about.

The flash from the video screen blinds the scoreboard on 3rd down plays.
