Disturbing Trend

Punk ass behavior by football teams.
SDSU pre-game crap.
SFA taunting the UNI student section(the ones that were still there and not at home watching IOWA) at the end of the game.
Coaches, get a leash on your animals.
Well coached/disciplined teams don't pull crap like this.
This is un-acceptable.

Are you kidding me? That's stupid. That's one reason I love Liberty. You'd NEVER EVER see that in any sport or event, home or away.

What happened with SDSU? (is this South Dakota or San Diego?)

A lot of this behavior stems from the Coaches themselves.
You'd never see it at Albany because every single one of the players knows from the minute they step foot into Coach Ford's football facility that crap like that is not tolerated.
Its a top-down problem.

Yep. SFA's coaches didn't go taunt the students, but from their actions during the games that behavior isn't frowned upon by them

Anybody think that SFA's players might have been drunk? Could explain the falling down a couple of games ago...just too tipsy to stand for a second. Happens to the best of us every once in a while.

They may have been. By the time they got to the student section it was pretty much cleared out and they were taunting yellow seat backs.

I've never seen a team act like SFA in 21 years of watching UNI games. Every now and then a few players might taunt the crowd but coaches always reign them in and the team in to go celebrate in front of their fans. Instead, SFA crosses the field and over half the team taunts the crowd as they slowly walk towards the locker room. I hope SFA loses every game. I will always cheer against this classless program. I've always enjoyed our SLC matchups, but they can stay off our schedule. I'm glad OSBF was their as a neutral witness to this garbage.

SFA sounds like the final opponent in Varsity Blues.

You have no idea how nice it is to see that fans of other schools are seeing the same type of behavior and general classlessness that I saw from the SFA program in week 2.
I started to feel like I really was off base in my comments last week. Maybe I wasn't so far off afterall.

I haven't been around UNI as long as Rob has, my first UNI game was 1999, I believe, but I didn't start going every week until I got to college (living 4.5 hours away and being in high school activites does that). In all of the UNI games I've watched, and well any game I've ever saw in person SFA is "tops" when it comes to lack of class and "chippy" play

Glad SFA didn't have anything to taunt about last year in Missoula...or in '95.

SEMO player(s) did the same thing. It was mainly one guy, who, obviously, didn't play a down the entire game. #26, some freshman saftey thug who was never in the game. At then end, there were about 4-5 SEMO players on the benches standing a waving towels and yelling towards the student section.
Putting the visiting team back on the student side was a bad idea...

Yep...our students are on the other side of the field which is what makes this even "worse"

I agree totally. I honestly have never seen a team act like that before. What a joke.

SDSU must have come up with whatever has put ISU's panties in a bunch in just one week. They were not out of line before, during or after the game 7 days before in their visit to Newark. So what the hell happened?

SFA was like that from before they entered the field until they left it. Their RB (#1) was taunting the crowd and calling for noise before they even eventered the field. A bunch of backup OL were talking trash to us during the game(we gladly returned it).
Nicholls State was pretty chippy on the sideline last year, but didn't have much to be excited about.
Other than that I don't remember anyone acting like that.

He should have been flagged for "enticing the crowd"

Hmmm....I was at the UM/SFA game last year in the playoffs...for some reason we didn't see any of their cockiness during the game....
I wonder why?

Cap'n Cat's thoughts on this affair:
1. Taunting and bad manners have been going on since the dawn of college football. When I played at UNI, I was the asshole you guys are talking about on SFA's sidelines, but I did it on the field, too, and enraged the opposing fans with my play and my taunts. Every team does it to some degree. It's just having fun and being into the game.
***Following up on that, and knowing what the SFA team had to deal with (ranked opponent, away game) I can't blame them for being fired up about playing and winning in a VERY hostile venue. They did a very good job and it was a good game. It wasn't a conference loss, so I didn't much care. Good luck to SFA.
2. What SFA's players were doing was no more than any most other teams do. I didn't see the taunting, but, if there was any, big deal.
3. What's worse is fat, drunk football alums in the stands irritating the HOME fans around Him. Guess who?
No wonder pantherrob82 doesn't sit with me! Plus, he's got the rich folks seats in the second row.
4. If any of the tailgating pics turn out, I'll post them today. Had a great time with OSBF, prob, oldcat, clenz and their ladies. parob82 had to figure out how to work the flash on my cammie. Took him 2 seconds what woulda taken me a half hour.
Cap'n Cat hath spoken, long live Cap'n Cat.

Cap, how many times did you CROSS THE FIELD to blow kisses and swear at the students after the game?
The slobs sitting right behind SFA during the game, they deserve to get back whatever they give. Going out of your way to taunt the student section after the game is another.
