NDSU is not a top 20 team right now....

NDSU is flat, dazed, injured and confused right now. I was in Y-Town for the Bison/Penguin clash this past weekend and I saw a renewed Youngstown team and beatdown Bison team. Here are my post game thoughts copied from Bisonville.com ......
Wow, all day flying and another heart breaking loss..... Just a few thoughts before some of you throw Mertens to the wolves....
This loss was a team effort.
1) Arm tackles do not work. Where was our defensive line in stopping the run? We have got to improve that.
2) After Roehl got into the game it really opened up. How different would have it been if Roehl would have started? Who knows, but it is an interesting thought...
3) Penalties are still killing us.
4) We seem to have a bit of a "red zone" problem. This problem is related to #3 above at times.
5) Yes, Mertens is still making some stupid throws and no question that 4 interceptions per game is unacceptable, but geez....remember this is only the kid's 4th start.
6) Hopefully this bye week will heal the team up both physically and emotionally. They have to play with more intensity. I noticed at the end of the 4th quarter, Bohl himself had to go over to the bench and get the players up to cheer the Herd on during the last drive.....they should have already been up....Bohl shouldn't have to tell them to get up!
All in all, another team loss. When I watched the 1st half here at Y-town, it was like a continuation of the 2nd half from Laramie....we were BAD!
