#10 MSU @ Sac St.
#10 MSU @ Sac St.
Need to get a thread started here for this game, one of my favorite games of the year since it usually sends SuperWhoreNut into depression for a few weeks.
Big sky rankings after 4 games (includes OOC)
#1 rushing offense (MSU) vs #3 rushing Defense (SAC)
#4 rushing offense (SAC) vs #2 rushing defense (MSU
#3 passing offense(MSU) vs #9 pass defense (SAC)
#9 pass offense (SAC) vs #6 pass defense (MSU)
SAC has probably had the tougher schedule to date having played Stanford, WSU & UM
Both sides are banged up a little but it should be a good game

Re: MSU @ Sac St.
Expect a heavy does of Hilliard all game long. Even if we are down 20, he will get the ball on 1st down, and probably still get the ball on 2nd down even if it is 2nd and 9. Then there is probably a 15% chance that we throw the ball on 3rd and long.
Oh and those numbers are definitely screwed as Sac State played the tougher FBS school. I have no idea how big of a change it would be, but Stanford put up tons of yards so I'd have to think our defensive ranking would be a little higher at least.

After I had gathered the numbers I checked your schedule, that why I put the note about it in there.SDHornet wrote:Oh and those numbers are definitely screwed as Sac State played the tougher FBS school. Re: MSU @ Sac St.
you can expect a quick scat back in Davis and a spread out passing game using several receivers including Elvis (Speedster) Gilbert (slot, speed) Lloyd and Bleskin (possession type) also include 2 or more TE's and Davis from above.
Then a QB that is very elusive and extends the play and finds and open man or can run himself. When your D line starts getting tired we change it up to a couple of power backs in Palmer and Kirk
The D is just the same old Bobcat D.

The Sac offense really was pretty bad last week. Take away three turnovers AND a blocked punt, all in our redzone, and most of their points disappear off the board. Their QB looked even worse than Mitchell and Selle, so they'll probably try to depend on Hilliard for most of their yards again. We all know how well that worked for EWU last week.

Re: MSU @ Sac St.
From what I saw from some of the game vs the Griz is that Sac State defense is pretty stout, likes to blitz a lot and very fast flowing.
They do a great job on the offensive line of sealing the line the scrimmage and getting Hilliard on the edge. Last years game turned on a few key plays but they played us very tough up to that point.
On offense if there is difference for the Cats is that we are more efficient moving the ball. We don't get bogged down for entire halves. Also this year our RB Davis will remind Sac State a little bit of Demetrius Crawford.
As beat up as we are I expect a very close game. I am sure Sac State will come out fighting hard to prove they are legit and MSU will try maintain momentum

Yep. The Cats get to (once again) take advantage of a team with a Griz hangover.Silenoz wrote:MSU by 21

Not much of a hang-over this year, more like switching from drinking Lite Beer one week, then drinking 35 year old Scotch the next.AZGrizFan wrote:Yep. The Cats get to (once again) take advantage of a team with a Griz hangover.Silenoz wrote:MSU by 21

Re: MSU @ Sac St.
You guys actually believe that Sac is going to lay down for the Kitties after almost beating the Griz? How insulting is that to the Griz?
Sac 35-32 OT.

I think it could be a real nail biter but then I think about all the options that MSU has and I think they will win by 7-10. I really covered all my bases there didn't I?SACCAT wrote:I don't think that at all...It should be a very good game.SuperHornet wrote:You guys actually believe that Sac is going to lay down for the Kitties after almost beating the Griz? I agree. I stopped by the Bobcat board (didn't post anything yet, but I plan on it sometime this week) and it sounds like there are quite a few injuries on the OL and DL. This could be a factor this week.SACCAT wrote:I don't think that at all...It should be a very good game.SuperHornet wrote:You guys actually believe that Sac is going to lay down for the Kitties after almost beating the Griz? Ursus: While I fully believe Sac will beat the Kitties, predicting a 7-10 pt margin in a Kitty win is a whole lot different than Silenoz's bogus 3-TD spread.

Re: MSU @ Sac St.
Sac has a pretty good D but MSU has the ability to capitalize on a missed coverage or exploit you in the run game. It would only take a few plays and my prediction would look silly compared to Sil's.SuperHornet wrote:Ursus: While I fully believe Sac will beat the Kitties, predicting a 7-10 pt margin in a Kitty win is a whole lot different than Silenoz's bogus 3-TD spread.
Realistically unless the Cats make mistakes I think they'll probably hold Sac to around 20 and I could easily see them scoring in the 40's.
If both teams play relatively error free (or are equally giving) then I'd go with Cats 34-24 but what the hell do I know?
Re: MSU @ Sac St.
Look at it this way superWHOREnut
MSU is 5th in the nation for scoring offense and 8th in the nation for scoring defense
CSUS is 56th for scoring offense and 73rd for scoring defense.
a 21 point game is likely

Look at who we played, DumbDumb2506. MSU hasn't played anyone even approaching the quality of Stanford. Our stats are enormously skewed by that game.

Re: MSU @ Sac St.
If the Cats play mistake free (or at least close to it) I can see them running away with this one. The Griz tried as hard as they could to shit the bed last week and still won. Sac's D looked pretty good, but their O was almost worse than the Griz's. If the Cats stuff Hilliard, which I think they will, I doubt Sac can win.
