One's an accident, two's a fluke, but three's starting to sound intentional.

That ain't cool.

Elon is quickly developing a reputation for dirty play. I don't know the circumstances surrounding ASU/Elon but if recent history means anything...

It was yet another late hit, after the whistle, on a player that had already been ruled down. Elon is hands down the dirtiest program, in terms of dirty play, that I have ever seen. I watched their defensive linemen throw little punches while in the pile. I watched them hit players late 1 out of every 3 plays. Their players fought one another on the sidelines (their kicker and a lineman). This is not an exaggeration. Lembo is a classless coach, who has recruited thugs, and taught them to be even dirtier.

2008 - Armanti got leg-whipped after he stepped out of bounds.
2009 - Elon defender dives at his knees after Armanti throws a pass.
2010 - DeAndre slides so that the clock can run out (2 minutes left in the game), 3 Elon defenders land on top of him, including one who lowers the shoulder into his head and sandwiches it into the turf.

Elon got away with a lot of dirty play. Multiple blocks in the back outside the tackle box when we were chasing Riddle went uncalled. Some punching in the pile. Lembo almost headbutted the ref at half after sprinting across the field after an App fumble (which was clearly a forward pass as it went forward and the receiver dropped it). A win is a win, but I was so mad after the game at the Elon thuggery I had to walk around to cool off.

How did that go unpunished? That was ridiculous.

Presley was held out of practice today as a precaution. It's not officially a concussion though.

The injury hit is at 4:20. Notice how #3 for App points out the head-first hit by the Elon defender.

In 2008 there was also an Elon player that speared Armanti while he was laying on the ground and while the pass was in the air. The pass was intercepted but was called back because of the penalty. That was the most blatant one I can remember. I thought the Elon player would be ejected.
