ASU - defenseless

ASU has played two decent opponents (UTC & Elon) and given up 500 yrds of offense to both.

ASU may be currently unbeaten and ranked #1, but they can forget Frisco and maybe even the SoCon title unless that tissue thin defense improves a whole lot before the Furman, GSU, Wofford run.

All we have to do is score more than the opponent. So far, not a big problem.

It will be when you meet an opponent that plays tough defense.

And that could be be at least a month or more from now.

Best to mind our own p's & q's until then.

In 2007, Deli-ware had 4,342 yds passing and 2,567 yds rushing in offense, while giving up 25.8 points a game.

Appalachian is averaging 23.8 points against thus far in 2010. In 2007 Appalachian gave up an average of 26.67 points a game.

You remember 2007, don't you?

2007 was 2007...now is now. You don't have AE and our defense this year isn't being held together by tape. I'd like nothing better than seeing you in playoffs...of course you better hope you draw nothing but BSC and SoCo schools in the playoffs...you spot the top 5 in the CAA 500 yards and you're done.

What happen in 2007 is about as relevant as what happened in 2003...

Yes, come out to Montana State with that defense. We'd love a rematch at home this time. :thumb:

The front four aren't to blame. They held Elon to 3-11 on 3rd down with ZERO blitzes on the day. The secondary however is very suspect. The new DC is trying to implement his schemes, but the secondary are reverting back to the old schemes at times. Thankfully we played and beat the two best passing teams in the SoCon already.

Whatever makes you feel good...believe what you will. This is the first season without AE in 4 years. The last season without AE (before he arrived) was 2005. I wonder what happened that year...oh yeah.

What is the point? They give up lots of yards, but still find a way to win. Isn't that the sign of a good team?

Everyone was saying the same thing last year after we started out 0-2... and should have lost to the Citadel.

Should we be questioning Delaware's defense since the best offense they've played is Duquense? :coffee:

Wow! I did not know they gave points for yards of offense. Learn something new everyday. Hmmmm.

Actually, say what you will, App's D is pretty darn good. We've gotten beat on a few deep throws, but so what? Tissue thin? I don't think so. We'll see what happens against a run first offense. The Citadel, GaSo, & Wofford coming up.

FTR, I hope we see the CAA's best in the playoffs.

It may seem that way, but it's not because Cluck U actually knows 2.5 black people.

That's part of the only decade you've won a NC correct? I think they call that a nice run.
