Bummer for Richmond.
We UD fans know what it is like using a non-QB as a QB. Not pretty.
The article says the punter is starting next game, but is Laub out for the year or does Richmond expect Laub back in a couple games?

Laub is expected back before the season's offer ... but 2010 is surely becoming a season to forget for us.

Not the news we wanted to hear. Injuries have killed us this year. Laub should be back in a few weeks (I've seen 2 mentioned).
Here's the school's release

"Even before Corp went down, seven Spiders who would have been in uniform at New Hampshire were not because of injuries. Out were RB Jovan Smith, WR Donte Boston, DE Kerry Wynn, DT Casey Cooley, S Darryl Hamilton, OL Kevin Westervelt and Laub. Additionally, WRs Kevin Grayson, Tre Gray and Jon Thompson, LB Patrick Weldon and DT Corey Jackson have been hampered by injuries this season. "

Sucks for UR. JMU has had similar:
-Returning starting OL pre season broken ankle 6-8 weeks to entire season. Sat will be 8 weeks & he's not back yet.
-Returning starting LB medical redshirt- calcium deposits in leg
-Starting DT out since VT- ankle sprain
-2 deep TB/WB out since Liberty- hamstring
-Starting TB (Sullivan) went out against Towson - ankle sprain
-Starting tightend went out against Towson- shoulder
-Starting de end went out against Towson- concussion
Hopefully 3-4 of those guys are back against UNH this Sat. Have to wait for Mickeys weekly shows to get injury updates. I remember reading that Nova at the end of the W&M game had 8 players out. Part of winning the CAA and/or making the playoffs is who has the least injuries, mainly because of a lack of depth at many positions. I remember UD posters saying for the JMU game they didn't have any starters injured (I know one was suspended for that game)

Great. Thanks for sharing.
We'll still be looking to kick the hell out of JMU on 11/6, even if we have a 3rd-string tennis player at QB.

Corp is a real talent. He has a Good arm and is very mobile. UR is basically toast. UR fans are now reduced to "Wait till next year."

You're nuts. This is where we get started. True Frosh Montel White will go for 500 all-purpose yards and 6 td's against UMass this weekend and we won't look back, all the way to Frisco.

In '07, App State bounced UR from the playoffs.
In '08, the Spiders took their third loss and second in the CAA, were devastated and looked done, and the next week had to travel to UMass. We all know what happened from there.

Devastating news for Richmond

I wish Corp a speedy recovery and full health for next season. I wouldn't count Richmond out as far as having a say in who wins the CAA this year. The Spiders still have games against UMass, Villanova, James Madison and William & Mary. Anyone who thinks UR is going to lay down and not give any of these teams a game is kidding themselves.

With no "true" QBs available, should UR go to the single wing offense?

Way to go out on a limb there....
I would think any QB that is ranked as the #3 QB in their class and commits to USC would be a pretty good talent.
