NAU has won last two games of the season, both on the road in dramatic fashion.

Sac St won their first D-I game of the year Saturday, beating Portland State 41-31.

Another crucial Big Sky game

I think...hope????? that NAU can take care of business at home...

I know little about the Big Sky, except what I read on these boards...I won't pick against NAU in this game...

Jacks to focus on special teams vs. Sac State

When NAU coach Jerome Souers walked into his weekly press conference Tuesday afternoon and started answering questions from reporters, he acted more like a coach who was coming off a pair of loses rather than a coach coming off of two close road wins.

"We can't have performances like we had on Saturday and expect to be a contending team," said Souers of NAU's three-point win over Northern Colorado on Saturday. "We realize we have to perform more to our potential. We were fortunate to get some wins on the road, but those games could have gone either way. "There's a sense of urgency in our camp to take care of the details that it takes to play a quality football team. Every thing we do is going to be towards making the improvements to be better on Saturday "

At the forefront of those improvements for NAU is its special teams play.

The Lumberjacks had several lapses in special teams in its 25-22 win over Northern Colorado. The Jacks had two consecutive punts blocked in the second half and also allowed Bears cornerback Quincy Wofford to return the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown

NAU seems to be dominating field position.

Sac has started inside their own 5 three times (one was off a pick, though).
