X Southern Illinois 9-2 7-1 – Only slipping up once in conference and owning a win over UNI, SIU earns the MVFC auto-bid.

Y Northern Iowa 9-2 7-1 – Northern Iowa returns to the playoffs with an at-large bid.

Y Illinois State 9-2 6-2 – Illinois State makes their return to the playoffs with at at-large bid.

Z North Dakota State 7-4 5-3 – NDSU is a bubble candidate for their first playoff appearance.

South Dakota State 6-5 5-3 – The Jacks fall a little short this year.

Youngstown State 6-5 4-4 – The Penguins are rebuilding, just a year away from contention.

Indiana State 3-8 1-7 – The Sycamores take a step in the right direction.

Western Illinois 2-9 1-7 – Bad situations in Macomb carry over to 2010. Maybe the healing can begin.

Missouri State 1-10 1-7 – Terry Allen says his goodbyes and cleans out his office.

SIU - Could still be right on them winning the autobid, but they already have 3 losses.
UNI- Team has played well but not performed well in the turnover battle. Still in position to finish 2nd.
Illinois State- If ISU can win out, this could still be right. I have the feeling they won't. Not sure what happened here.
NDSU- I took a lot of heat for putting the Bison here, but they're still very much in the thick of things.
SDSU- I took a lot of heat for putting the Jacks here, but they could finish even lower. :kisswink:
YSU- I feel OK with this still.
Indiana State- This was about right. They might finish better. They have 3 wins and 1 in conference.
WIU- OOPS!
MSU- A few more wins than I thought. Still same result. No playoffs and new coach.

Pretty good, R.

NDSU will flameout beginning this week.

In my continued quest for UNI to somehow get the autobid, a Bison win is necesary this weekend.

SDSU and NDSU win and UNI is sitting pretty good.

Somebody gets it, the better NDSU does, the better UNI's win over NDSU, looks for seeding and if they end up a bubble team.

That has nothing to do with it.

A win for NDSU, who had multiple conference losses, adds another conference loss to teams around UNI, giving UNI more of a cushion as the season goes on.

It doesn't matter if NDSU doesn't win another game, if UNI goes 8-3 they are going to get in. Seeding doesn't matter, as an 8-3 UNI team wouldn't get a seed anyhow.

What if it's a 7-4 UNI team that is 7-3 against FCS schools?

I got yo' back Thumpa...lez get deese chumps!

Seriously: Jacks need to win this weekend or we're playing for pride and to ruin every other team's season...which can be fun...but it's not preferred.
With a 7-4 and that schedule....Jacks easily make it into playoff picture.
