Albany @ Bryant - Danes have found a QB and I don't think they have ever lost 3 NEC games in a row. Bryant has a great RB, but not much else.

CCSU vs. Wagner - Dorcher still scares me and the lack of CCSU run defense is a glaring weakness. I do think the Blue Devils have more talent overall and should put this away at home in another tight affair for Central.

Duquesne @ RMU - The inter-city meeting has more juice with the Dukes in the NEC. This could be a close game, but coming off a bye I think the Colonials see the light at the end of tunnel and put this away early.

Monmouth vs. Sacred Heart - Don't expect the Hawks to roll, but they know that they a darkhorse to win the AQ, therefore they shouldn't get slowed down by a better-than-their-record SHU team.

SFPA @ Cal Poly - Give the Flash a ton of credit for going to the Left Coast for a game with a Top-25 opponent. Not many other programs the size of SFPA would take such a game.

Albany @ Bryant - While the Danes came up short last week, I believe that they may have found the formula to salvage some respect out of the remainder of the season. Bryant is undefeated at home this year and I would have penciled in the Bulldogs as the favorite in this game at the beginning of the year, but Bryant continues on their enigmatic ways and Albany may take out their frustrations in Smithfield.

CCSU vs. Wagner - I was tempted to call for an upset here, but I just don't think that the Seahawks have what it takes to knock off the Blue Devils, particularly in New Britain.

Duquesne @ RMU - Laugh if you will. Call me "homer" if you must. While it didn't quite work out last week (awfully close though!), I'm calling this game at Joe Walton Stadium the NEC UPSET OF THE WEEK (Trademark Pending).

This is not a knock on the impressive Colonial squad. They have earned their position at the top of the heap. However, their loss to Dayton and narrow victories over Sacred Heart and Monmouth show that they are far from invincible.

The Dukes will have to bring their "A Game" to Moon Township for four full quarters. Duquesne has shown an unfortunate tendency to only turn on the jets when they are down and time is running out. They will also have to make sure that their Red Zone opportunities turn into TDs, not field goals. The Dukes will need every point they can get against this stingey RMU defense.

If Sean Patterson (Duquesne's QB) is on target throughout the game, it could be a long afternoon for the Colonial defense. Trying to corral the NEC's top receiver corps (it's not "receiver/linebacker core", people! ) and stop sophomore Larry McCoy (949 total rushing yards, 118.63 ypg) will show if Robert Morris is really ready to represent the NEC as its first FCS Playoffs representative.

On the other hand, Duquesne's defense will have to step it up to stop senior Myles Russ (806 total rushing yards, 115.14 ypg) and put some pressure on the Colonials' excellent QB, Jeff Sinclair - neither Albany nor Monmouth were able to put Mr. Sinclair on his back. The Dukes will have to do better.

I think that this game will come down to the final seconds. Bobby Mo won't be able to block a game-winning FG because someone from Duquesne's receiver corps will be free in the end zone for the winning TD as time expires!

How's that for a prediction?

Monmouth vs. Sacred Heart - Watch out for the Hawks! They could easily find themselves atop the NEC at the end of the season.

SFPA @ Cal Poly - Enjoy the trip to San Luis Obispo, gentlemen! It's a beautiful town.

Albany @ Bryant - Danes not up to usual standard but still have enough to push Bryant around. Danes will score first and pull away.

CCSU vs. Wagner – Homer. Doesher is smart and resourceful, but his few big plays vs. Duquesne were on broken plays at home. Maybe Walt should install some more broken plays in his offense. Can’t see the road win happening. CCSU.

Duquesne @ RMU – Dukies have been unlucky and coached strangely (seemingly tried a 5-man defense on one play during Saturday’s visit to Grymes Hill and blamed it on the officials). But they are under-rated and Colonials may be just a bit over-rated. Home court shouldn’t matter.

Monmouth vs. Sacred Heart – Big home edge and Monmouth may be the best-coached team in the NEC.

SFPA @ Cal Poly - enjoy the trip from Loretto. It will only go downhill from there.

Albany @ Bryant: Take away the ball protection in OT, Albany's Frosh QB was impressive. Albany 27-17
CCSU vs. Wagner: Picking the visitors with my heart not my brain. Wagner 31-27
Duquesne @ RMU: Game of the week and a close call. RMU 24-20
Monmouth @ SHU: Nice W by SHU last week vs. Georgetown. MU should pull this one out in Q4. Monmouth 28-20
St. Francis (Pa) @ Cal Poly: Well, SF(Pa) will travel for nothing and fly home with a check. Cal Poly 49-10

Albany @ Bryant - I hate doing this, but I like Bryant at home. They have played much better, have had two weeks to prepare, and hopefully can get their first win over the Danes.

CCSU vs. Wagner - CCSU is a better team and has their eyes on a playoff bid. They will not overlook anyone before the RMU game and will win a fairly easy game i think.

Duquesne @ RMU - torn on this one, just feel like picking a second upset pick. I hope RMU wins and CCSU/RMU matchup will be for the bid, but I'll go on out on a limb and say the Dukes win by 2.

Monmouth vs. Sacred Heart - some tough early loses, they have a good DLine and if they can pressure the QB he will continue to make mistakes. I really like Monmouth big in this one.

SFPA @ Cal Poly - Keeping it within 25 will be a victory for the red flash.

Albany @ Bryant - it will be close but we found something last week despite the complete breakdown in the 2nd half on defense. Bryant is tough at home and Albany doesn't travel well, but I have a good feeling about this one.

CCSU vs. Wagner - Doscher is scary good, but CCSU's defensive weekness is the rush, not the pass. They'll do just fine against Wagner.

Duquesne @ RMU - RMU is the class of the NEC this year. This is for the NEC Western PA Division Title and its a rivalry game, but I think RMU wins going away.

Monmouth vs. Sacred Heart - Monmouth really turned this season around. Some growing pains in the beginning and games that I'm sure they wish they had back.......but.......ummmm.....Sacred Heart lost 41-0 to St. Francis.

SFPA @ Cal Poly - courageous scheduling by SFPA. Schedules like SFPA's have helped raise the NEC SOS overall. Wagner should take a hint. Even in a blowout, the young kids playing for SFPA will get more out of travelling west and playing a solid Top 25 team then just about any other out of conference game they could have played. :thumb:

Albany @ Bryant
Bryant is 4-0 at home this year and sure 2 of those wins are against NE-10 schools. I think Albany is going to come into this game and force Bryant to beat them with passing and Albany will look to control the clock throughout the game.
Brown will get 100 yards but it will be tough. I think the difference on Saturday will be the legs of Buddy Leathley and a few passes here and there to move the sticks.
This will be a battle but Albany escapes with a narrow win.

Albany 23-21

CCSU vs. Wagner
CCSU better be ready for Doscher. This is Wagner's season right here. Wagner is really against the wall now after losing to the Dukes by 1. Wagner has to stop CCSU's rushing attack but they won't be able to so Wagner is going to have to match CCSU score for score.
Wagner fights hard but Doscher can't do it all against CCSU.

CCSU 35-27

Duquesne @ RMU
Battle of the Burgh
USA Today even notices how big this game is
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/ ... ries_N.htm
RMU had a week off to rest and get ready for the Dukes. Dukes beats Dayton...Dayton beat RMU...Dukes > RMU????
If it was only that easy.
RMU is a great team lead by some special seniors that play as a family and really want to bring a championship to Robert Morris.
This team is focused and ready for the Dukes. McCoy vs #1 Rush D | Patterson vs #1 D in terms of INT.
This will be a great battle just like those in the 90s.
I believe the Colonials D will bend but not break too much against the Dukes and the Dukes will have a very hard time stopping Russ/Link/Sinclair/Cobb/AC/Dre/Green..etc

RMU 31-13

Monmouth vs. Sacred Heart
Guess what Monmouth...Sacred Heart is going to pass but I don't see SHU pulling an ODU against Monmouth. I think this game will be a little closer than everyone expects.
But I think Monmouth's Specials Team puts this game away in the 2nd half.

Monmouth 27-17

SFPA @ Cal Poly
SFPA represents the NEC for about 1 quarter. Cal Poly will run all over SFPA, the athletic staff will be bored and stop taking stats by the 2nd quarter as its Homecoming for the Mustangs.
LBs Lewis & Parker will combine for 100 tackles on the day.

Cal Poly 56-7

Not in the NEC Pollbut just my two cents>>>>>if thats ok?
Albany at Bryant- Bryant my pick here think last weeks game was a crusher for Albany and Bryant has film on new QB,
CCSU vs Wagner- CCSU my pick here- It is going to be tough for Wwagnerto come back from stunning 4th quarter comeback by Duquesne on Homecoming. Doscher has become one dimensional with the run and CCSU will stop that.
Monmouth vs sacred Heart- Monmouth has alot to play for and Will beat sacred heart going away.
cal poly vs SFPA- Cal Poly will be playing second stringby 2nd quarter........mismatch
Duquesne at Robert Morris- I like Duquesne in this one think McCoy /Patterson best 1-2 punch in league. great matchup with Russ/Sinclair.

Congratulations to the Colonials. Robert Morris systematically dismantled the Dukes today. They are definitely a Top 25 team.

:notworthy:

The Dukes needed to bring their 'A' game against this top-notch Colonial team if they were going to have a chance today. Unfortunately, the Dukes brought their 'C+' game. Williams and Dixon dropping multiple passes? Duale missing two relatively easy field goals? Things like that are not going to get you the "W" against a team like Robert Morris.

Russ was his usual shifty self. Sinclair made numerous plays with his feet in addition to his arm. The Colonials' "D" locked down McCoy and made Patterson run for his life all afternoon.

I have a hard time seeing CCSU beating RMU next week.

Great game by the Colonials today. They started a little slow and was helped by the Dukes with them missing some FGs and dropping passes.
Congrats to Myles Russ on becoming the all-time leading rusher in Robert Morris Football History.

I agree! RMU should be ranked at 20 or better!

And, while CCSU needs to do a lot of hard work to earn a win, I would also expect CCSU to be properly credited by the pollsters if the do beat the Colonials at Joe Walton Stadium.

The wheels have fallen off the wagon in Albany.......our playcalling is partly to blame - I can't tell you how many times we ran the ball up the middle for 2 yards yesterday. It doesn't work in the NEC anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well - we've never had a losing season in the NEC so we need to win the next 3 games to be 4-4 (Sacred Heart, Wagner and Monmouth). Not going to be easy.
