Find me a nice CCU avatar and I'll wear it 'til the championship game.

If it has CDB in it, I won't put it up tho. :thumb: Only that stupid ball-chinned chicken or a helmet or something.

To add injury to insult RMU also lost today. So if Liberty knocks off SBU, will they still get the auto-bid?

If we win the tiebreaker which is fewest points allowed in conference, which seems unlikely.

Or if CCU loses to CSU.

Done.

Unless Liberty puts up 60 on SBU then the Seawolves have a lock on the tiebreaker, they've only given up 63 points. LU and CCU have both allowed 100+.

Thank you Coastal1 We took care of business this afternoon. We took the legs off the Runnin Bulldogs 55-3! Liberty has been too much bravado all season. I think they expected a cake walk to the National Title.

let me get this right...

If CCU beats CSU and LU beats SB then we have a three way tie for the Big South Championship but only one is getting the autobid.

basically SB has the tiebreaker locked and will take the auto but CCU could still call themselves 2010 Big South Co-Champions?

If CCU and LU both get wins next week, the Big South autobid comes down to a three-way tie which will be decided by defensive points allowed against conference opponents. So far I believe SBU has allowed 68, CCU 106 and LU 110. LU would need to score about 40 points on SBU and we would need to shut-out CSU for us to get the autobid.

Regardless of who gets the autobid, if the above scenario plays out (SBU beat us, then we beat LU, then LU beats SBU) there would indeed be a three-way tie for the Big South Championship as well. All three teams would have a share of the league title for 2010.

That sounds confusing...I say The Brook just takes it outright :D

Great playing by Coastal - This is certainly a great sign that the Big South has become a three horse battle. What a 2011 season it will be too!

I still don't get why a school from New York is in the Big South?

Congrats CCU! Hopefully we can beat (probably will) CSU.

According to the Long Island Newsday we have to lose by more than 37 next Saturday for us not to get the bid. I would prefer an out right win . I know it's crazy a team from Long Island could be Big South Champs. Hey we are South of New England by 9 miles ( Long Island Sound is in the way)

Basically, for LU to get in, SBU has to lose to LU by that much, and LU has to allow 4 fewer than CCU or something like that.

CCU is in if LU blows out SBU and CCU doesn't allow more than LU.

SBU is in with a win or a reasonable loss.

LU is in with a win and a CCU loss.

I do! Since the auto-bid is pretty much a lock for SB, im just hoping the news paper reads...

Stony Brook, Coastal Carolina, and Liberty... 2010 Big South Conference Co-Champions

I don't think being part of a Threesome is in line with the "Liberty Way,"

It was about getting to a full scholly conference. With the exception of the CAA (where a bid would have been unlikely to impossible...mostly impossible), there are no full scholly leagues with a presence in the Northeast. The Big South was looking for members to increase membership and competitiveness so it could apply for the AQ. SBU took the bid, and is essentially playing like Boston College in the ACC.

I'm pretty happy with us here. I don't see us moving until we make an all-sports move. Only two options I see for that would be the CAA or Big East...and neither are likely or even on the horizon at the moment.

Agreed. We just re UP-Ped with the Big South through the 2015 season. I expect we will be there longer-which is ok.
