NDSU BISON*@Missouri State

Game goes to the BISON. Its on the road, a big plus for the Bears. I think home field brings the contest even.

What gives the BISON the edge is the defense and its absolute stinginess in allowing the touchdown. They have only given up 16 TDs, by far the least in the league. MSU on the other hand has given up 31.

Names to watch on the Bears defense:

Adam Beauchamp 3 in MVFC league tackles with 54, 9/game. He is abut 50/50 solo assist.

Antol Wilkinson 8.4/game

Skylar Smith 7.7

Nick Canavan 6.5

Couple good sack guys:
Waylo Richardet and Teri Washington and Levi Moore

Most of the players Im mentioning are seniors.

Looking at the NDSU defensive players on the list of the leagues top players and none of them are seniors. There are several juniors but overall NDSU has a much younger bunch of standout players.

On one stat the measures the hitting power NDSU has 3 of the top 5 spots covered in forced fumbles.

As much flack as the MFVC is getting this year about being down, it's better than most think. UNI might win a few playoff games that most would overlook. UNI is better than their record, as is the rest of the MVFC. I put UNI 5th in my AGS poll.

MSU plays with a different game when they are home. Other then last week they were undefeated and were putting up some good numbers at home. Will they pack it in and call it a season or will they show up one last time at home and play spoiler????

Nobody cares that you don't care. Some fans actually stick by their teams win or lose.

My bad....so you are still undefeated at home? Then I will say it will be a great game. Could be my upset special. :o

Don't know how they would respond to that? I will say this they have gotten better this year. Win or Lose this will be their best record since joining the Valley.

Should be a good test on whether the Bison are playoff worthy or not.

I want the Bison to win for the decent Bison fans, but want the Bears tio kill them and knock them out of the playoffs for all the obnoxious ones.

The Bears are 8th in the league in scoring defense and 7th in total defense. Whatever they get they give back.

Key for NDSU is continuing the great return game.

Jose Mohler has a much better pass efficiency rating than Cody Kirby.

Their running backs are not spectacular but capable. They have two backs with over 500 yds, none doing as well as DJ McNorton. None of their running backs present a threat like SDSUs Kyle Minett.

Expect a game similar to the Indiana State victory. MSU is a good football team but they are always in shoot-outs.

This is a team that routinly scored 30+/game until the last 2 games. Suddenly Da Bears offense has produced less than 20/game in the last 2 games. That stats for Panther fans seeking vicarious revenge against the "Bad NDSU Fans"!

Man, for the good MSU fan's sake I hope MSU doesn't pull an MSU football in basketball this year.

If MSU can get up early NDSU will be in trouble. They have no offense outside of McNorton and I doubt they are capable of playing from behind against a good offense that can score quickly, see MSU, WIU, UNI.

Had SDSU been able to keep a healthy Minett on the field, even with O'brien giving up the ball 4 times SDSU would have had a shot at winning that game. The NDSU defense are stout but they like to fly around looking for the big hit instead of wrapping up. A good offense can take advantage of that and make them pay quickly. I'm not sure what MSU have in the backfield but to give you an idea of what a smart RB can do to an overplaying NDSU defense, Minett ran for over 50 in the 1st quarter before the injury.

Yeah, you know me, I definitely don't stick by our programs. I just run a message board for them and haven't missed a home football game in 9 seasons now.

And post crap like this

Hopefully the Bears can get up for one more game and run the table at home. Don't think that has been done in quite a while, if ever.

Don't know a lick about NDSU but we need to establish the run and keep our defense off the field. Maybe, just maybe, one of these times when we win the time of possession battle it will actually mean something and help us out.

So what you’re saying is that NDSU wouldn't play well against say an option team. So if UNI played them near the end of the season they would have beaten them worse. From what I am reading I would favor a matchup with NDSU if I was SEMO. I hope the Committee pairs us. They can come down to Cape Girardeau and then we can put to rest the whole SEMO hasn't done anything this year saga. :thumb:

JacksFan29 you are absolutely correct if Jose Quervo is our QB. If Brock Jensen is back and available I'd say you are way off. The issue though even if Jensen is back and available is how much did the time off hurt his game? I think it will be a good game and the Bison defense should keep us in the game for sure but with Jose Quervo at QB I'm not seeing this Bison team beat anyone who has a good offense. Put it this way if not for our defense scoring 2 td's last week the Bison wouldn't be in the playoff hunt. I know they say a good defense will win you games but the offense has to show up and so far this year with Quervo at QB the only thing we have had is DJ McNorton as a weapon and all teams have to do is stack the box and make a sub par QB throw and our chances of winning are not real good. I know I sound down on this team but the only one's I'm down on is our OC for some really crappy play calling. Our QB who is at best a backup for most teams or a DII starter and our HC who hasn't proven anything since he's been playing with his own recruits. We are definetly on the upswing but how much room with this QB to move up is questionable. All the W's we have this year are either as a result of our D or a different starting QB (Jensen). Realisticly even if we win this unless Jensen comes back for the playoffs this team won't win in the first round assuming they win this weekend.
