BIG SKY CONF.

I know the Big Sky has been down the last few years..... BUT it looks pretty darn strong this year. I know all you eastern teams know that the Big Sky has been known for upsets of upper ranked teams. Montana , Weber State and Northern Arizona are all for real this year. MSU and EWU are good teams but are now out of playoff outlook it seems. So That being said....do you guys respect the Big sky yet?? or do you need to travel to Wash. Griz and experience some false starts to understand. (17 False starts in Wa Griz this year)

Not saying we are the best conf in the nation because there are a few strong ones out there. But i want to hear what the rest of the nation really thinks about the Big Sky this year.

PLEASE REAL COMMENTS LETS STAY AWAY FROM THE YOU SUCK AND WHAT NOT COMMENTS!!!!!

Would any of you like to have your teams have to face WSU NAU OR UM in the first Round????

I'm thinking that if the chips fall right in the seeding, we could be looking at UM-BBQ in the chipper.

But will the ECBers allow that? Probably not.

The main argument I hear from CAA, SoCon, or MVFC is that if you take out Montana you have no consistent Big Sky success. They want to see an EWU or NAU make noise in the playoffs every year, not just once every 4 or 5 years. They continually overlook the fact that the Big Sky has upset the #1 playoff seed in the playoffs (not Montana) and App had two tough games last year against Big Sky teams. They played NAU and EWU and got better games than they did against Delaware in the NC game and these were supposed to be middle of the pack Big Sky teams. Oh well, I don't know what else you have to do.

No consistency? So what...

Weber State is having a great year, schooled Montana 45-28 yes only 16th and UM is 8th. WSU's lost Big Sky title was in 1968 and the team is now 4-0.

WSU QB Cam Higgins is the only soph on the Walter Payton Award watch - 2,500+ passing yards, 25 TD's, and we have the best running game in the 'Sky.

If WSU can win on Sat against NAU, WSU will move up in the polls, as most of the top 15 will be playing ranked opponents and WSU wont be.

http://www.weberhoops.com/football.htm - yes, we are a baskteball school...

You have a load of a football team this year. If you do win this weekend look to move well into the top 10.

HAHA.. Ok. Good luck. I have tried that in the past years and it has been terrible for Griz games. I tried it this year for about 15 minutes and left my house to go watch the game at a bar. What a joke. Either it won't let you in, the audio and video are way off, or you get one or the other.

NAU will probably lose to weber, since they killed Montana, by the way nau has some ugly uniforms.

The interesting thing about that argument, putter, is that it's the exact REVERSE of the argument used to provide proof of "competitiveness" in other conferences. 89Hen, for example will cite the fact that teams in the CAA only make the playoffs on an irregular basis as proof of the balance and competitiveness of their conference.

I was about to say the same thing. I would ignore the people who look down on the Big Sky, as long as the committee is willing to take multiple Big Sky playoff teams that is all that matters, at least IMHO.

Well in my opinion the Big Sky is off and on, back and forth every year. Im not sure what to say but the Big Sky always plays hard. Well with all that info i would like to ask. Do you guys think that there would be allowed 3 big Sky teams in the Playoffs this year.

Just say NAU beat WSU and UM beat NAU. = how many teams in the playoffs??

Say WSU Beats NAU and Um Beats NAU= how many???

Say WSU BEATS NAU and UM loses to NAU= how many??

Now say NAU beats WSU and UM Loses to NAU= how many??

for the sake of this post, all three teams beat everyone else on their sched.

2, Weber with only 7 D-1 wins in a 12 game season gets left out. UM gets auto bid based on Sagrin, which will be higher than NAU or WSU due to not losing late in the season.
mtgrizfankb wrote:Say WSU Beats NAU and Um Beats NAU= how many???
2, but maybe 3 - NAU likely out due to only 7 D-1 wins, but they also only played 11 games, so that might help, it depends on the rest of the country
mtgrizfankb wrote:Say WSU BEATS NAU and UM loses to NAU= how many??
3 WSU gets the auto bid, NAU at 8-2 is in, and Montana at 9-2 is in.
mtgrizfankb wrote:Now say NAU beats WSU and UM Loses to NAU= how many??
2 NAU with auto bid, Montana at 9-2 is in, WSU again is out with only 7 D-1 wins.
mtgrizfankb wrote:for the sake of this post, all three teams beat everyone else on their sched.
Only the D-1 games count, and I would think the committee would giver preference to a 7-4 team that played an all D-1 schedule. I don't think they will have a lot of sympathy for WSU playing all of their non-conference games out of division.

Theyre not gonna reward a d2 win. but they sure will penalize ur ass for losing to a d2. Bcs doesnt even recognize 1-aa wins.
