We all know Weber St. rarely runs the ball, and NAU is very good against the run so Weber St. will be forced to pass. Something that they seem very good at. But NAU seems to be on the ball this year and will hang around until atleast the 3rd quarter. If Weber St. has another Northern Colorado type of game again it could be a very long day for them.
NAU will take this game over in the 4th and win by 2 scores.

Its funny that WSU is a passing team with the best full back and half back in the conference. I think WSU will run more this game. I don't believe NAU could hold WSU to their average of 11 yds per game for even the first drive.
FYI, 24 NFL teams have come to watch our fullback play. Look for him to get drafted...

#6 is a pretty good return man, but he's small so he probably wont get picked up

Weber return specialist Bryant Etuati arrested for driving w/o auto insurance and 3 outstanding warrants.

The scouts they were talking about are there for Mailleu (245lb FB) and Smith. They're both legit pro material. Problem for everyone else is, they're not just a one-trick pony. If Smith goes out, they've got Doyle and Mailleu, and if the running game gets jammed, they've got Higgins who's a pretty solid dual threat and can toss a mean ball. NAU's DL is arguably the best in the FCS, but they're gonna have their hands full trying to control Weber's O...I'm giving this one to Weber, 24-17.

Final
Weber - 42
NAU -- 14
There are two constants in the Big Sky Conference:
1. Montana is always good
2. NAU always chokes

Was at the game. Weber is the real deal. Best team in the country, IMHO.

Thanks, dbj
Ya'all have a great facility and were superb hosts.
Good luck next week against Montana. I would like to see three Big Sky teams make the playoffs! I think our best chance is for the Lumberjacks to beat the Grizz, so that both NAU and UM earn invitations. Montana already has plenty of D1 wins and the coaches and press lean in their favor. I think they will get a bid even with one more loss.

You are right, Grizz, that another UNC-type game could have hurt the Wildcats against NAU. Apparently Higgins & Co. learned their lesson last week, however. The WSU turnover differential against the Lumberjacks was 4-1 in favor of the WIldcats. Higgins did not fumble.
I am puzzled by your comment that Weber State would be forced to pass. The Wildcats have had a robust running game all season long, including 192 net yards rushing earlier in the season against the Grizz. Trevyn Smith, the leading rusher in the Big Sky, gained 103 yards against Northern Arizona - more than the total yards gained against the vaunted NAU rush defense in all the the previous Lumberjack games this season combined.
This year the Weber offense has too many weapons, both in the air and on the ground. It is impoossible for opposing offenses to key on any one or two players or schemes.
AND, as usual, the hogs in the trenches are too often overlooked. Weber has talented workmen on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

A sad day, but one man does not make a team.
I sure hope the other kids were paying attention and realize how important it is to do right in the first place, and when we fall down to make right without making excuses.
Eteuati's loss did not seem to hurt Weber against NAU: Tim Toone averaged 7 yards on punt returns and 33 yards on kickoff returns against the Lumberjacks.

I don't think that's going to happen. Weber will get a seed assuming they don't get upset & Montana will get in & may have a shot at a seed should they finish 11-1. However, I don't think NAU's going to make it. The Lumberjacks' whole season will likely come down to their game in Cheney on November 15th.
