One of the quarters will be played and nationally televised Friday at 8 on ESPN2.

Who will they put on the short week? I'd think if any seeds lose that game would be out.

Any insight??

Barring an upset, you're looking at a roadie for the quarters, SE. I think you'll win that, but you're still looking at a roadie.

You didn't get it, either, did ya?

EWU can't play SFA in the quarters.

(And EWU will get a home QF game if NDSU wins because they're the #5 seed)

My bad, I read quarterfinal, but was thinking semifinal (4 teams left).

EWU~MSU would get a fair amount of hype/press because it's a rematch, but EWU~NDSU no one would care. Bison would get rolled. :coffee: :D

I sure hope it'll be Montana State!

For no other reason than to twist the panties of a few of the "fans" on eGriz a bit tighter!!

If it's at MSU, ESPN would have to bring in lights. I know they've done that before in Missoula, but it may be less likely if there's a good matchup that has lights.

It can get downright chilly around here once the sun goes down.

App State/Villanova or EWU/Montana State

ESPN is ECB central. No doubt they'll take 'Nova and App.

Not that I have any problem with it, but yeah, I would think Nova or SFA/App would be the frontrunner. That said, if it's SFA/APP, you may see UNH/UD if both teams make it through.

Not because of ECB but because a Nova/App game represents 4 NC the past 8 years and EWU/MSU represents 0. Win the freak'n thing and then cry bias. Until then your bias whining is really annoying SH. I guarantee if the histories were reversed they would be moving EWU/MSU game time and covering that game. Or would you whine about that too? :coffee:

 When did Boise State move to the EC? And they show a hell of a lot more Big10 games than any other conference. Penn State is the only team you could say is EC. :coffee:

Well, beings how we are throwing the ridiculous out there...

ESPN will show up at WaGriz and the REAL Montana team will start to garner some rather odd attention for this un-expected move by ESPN. It will then be released that Montana was in the playoffs all along, and the committee just felt it was unnecessary for UM to play in the first two rounds, and just allow them to start in the quarters.

In reality, depending on who wins I would expect APP and MSU to get the attention in that order. Only time will tell though.

Probably any game involving App. That said, <IF> both MSU and EWU can find a way to win today, I think that game should get some consideration, for a few reasons.

1.) Two seeded teams
2.) Conference mates
3.) Rematch from September

Dunno, they'll probably go out East, and I'm ok with that - but I think this would be a great one for ESPN *IF* it happened*. (Big if).

ESPN should have plenty of opportunity to show App State later on. :thumb:

EWU vs whoever - so they can talk about their field (especially if NDSU pulls the upset)

OR

App/Nova - because App always draws well and they can talk about the Big East expansion for the ENTIRE game...

I didn't even think of that. Yeah, if NDSU pulled the upset and EWU finds a way to win today, then we'd have the next game at home. That red turf would look pretty damn good on ESPN! :thumb:

simple question of ratings fellas...

nova, the reigning national champs - a team playing in philly - a team rumored to be moving up vs. app - former three time champion - "team that beat michigan"... in other words two schools who are much closer to household names than anyone else (sans UD thanks to Flacco)

all of this assumes that high seeds hold court of course...

i love the bison - and bear no ill will to anyone... but seriously, there is no way in hell that they'd roll trucks to Fargo to watch a Bison/SEMO game - nor should they... and other than the red turf/curiosity factor... i seriously doubt much could get them to Cheney... and any place they need to bring lights... not likely.

Venus: You were jumping on the fact that SFA can't be EWU's QF opponent. I was jumping on the fact that EWU can't have a QF home game unless SEMO pulls the 12-5 upset, which I don't believe will happen. We're essentially saying the same thing, but coming from different angles.
