Rank the remaining 8 teams

1. Delaware. Devlin and the offense really seem to have things going lately. The folks on gohens seem to think the game with Lehigh was some kind of wakeup call, but when you consider that Lehigh team was able to beat UNI on the road and consider what NDSU did in Bozeman, Lehigh isn't a joke and neither is beating them in the fashion they did.
2. Appalachian Sate. To be able to own WIU in the fashion they did is impressive. Presley has gotten better as the year goes on and the defense has matured as well.
3. Georgia Southern. Another team that has really gelled on offense late season, and it all has to do with the OL who has grown up a lot this season. They were able to gash W&M's solid defense running both up the middle and to the corners. The defense may be the best in the FCS as they were able to hold W&M to fewer yards than UNC and some of the other elite CAA defenses who go to play against W&M's backup QB.
4. New Hampshire. A very underhyped team when you consider what they have done this season.
5. Villanova. Szczur is back and playing like a mad-man. Will be a really good game in Boone.
6. Eastern Washington. I have a feeling they are going to vindicate the Big Sky Saturday and make a good game out of their semifinal opponent.
7. Wofford. Underwhelming win over Jax State? Maybe. But don't count out the team that was 7-1 in the SoCon.
8. North Dakota State. Sorry, but someone had to be 8th. It would be unwise for anyone to overlook them though, they've been pretty hot lately.

Wait just a minute...there were folks on this very board who were absolutely beside themselves with ASU not dropping off the face of the earth (or the FCS poll...whatever) when App lost to a terrible, horrible, non-top-25 GSU. Now GSU is the 3rd to 5th best team out there? There's no way. I don't believe it.

1. Delaware - Devlin is by far the best QB in FCS. The secondary is probably the only weakness, but that won't get exploited too much as there aren't really any great passing teams left in the playoffs.
2. GSU - the triple is a very tough offense to prepare for in the playoffs and its a perfect offense to play ahead with in the winter.
3. Appalachian State - always going to be tough at home.
4. NDSU - solid D and the running game is hot right now which is a deadly combination for a dead playoff run.
5. Villanova - Sczur back. Strong running game. Deep playoff experience.
6 - 8. UNH, Wofford, EWU - not really sure I can separate these three. Can beat anyone for sure but just seem to be a step behind the other 5.

Looks like the cat beating is tarnishing the golden reputation of the Big Fluffy.

Yes, I do realize some of the head to head results don't make all the pegs fit nicely, but this is an opinion thread.

Any of the 8 teams left have the ability to win 3 straight games. The biggest issue is likely the home field advantage which is where App and Delaware really become a tough environment to win. The teams like GSU, NDSU, and Nova that are having to play on the road are at a disadvantage but nothing that can't be overcome. 4 really good match-ups this weekend. Having Nova visit The Rock is pretty exciting for the Apps.
No matter who you play from here to Frisco, you better bring your A game!

SFA that was handing Nova's ass to them? You're on probation.

I didn't rank Nova so high because they beat SFA. I ranked them highly more because their win at Delaware a couple weeks ago and the fact that Szcscsur is healthy.

You must be the life of the party.

Of course they don't, but is a reasonable discussion for an FCS message board.
