I watched three different ESPN channels this morning just wanting to get the other FCS scores.....In 2 hours, I got the BCS Look Ahead 13 times, the Auburn-SC score 20 times, MMA results, Div 1, 2 & 3 soccer scores, NFL pregame info...hell, I even got D2 football playoff results, but no FCS scores....it's a foking joke...seriously, does nobody know the score of the Aub-SC game by Sunday morning? In a logical world, shouldn't the ticker be used to update games that you aren't going to dissect ad nauseum for the rest of us peons who don't suk BCS dik? ESPN is a fokking joke.... :coffee:

ESPN is nothing more than a B(C)$ whore. And an ECB B(C)$ whore at that. But the B(C)$ takes great priority over the ECB.

You need to get over the ECB stuff, it has little or nothing to do with ESPN sucking. I think you have a West Coast inferiority complex.

ESPN has become a master of self hype. If they cover it, they will talk about it ad nauseum.
Even the ESPN scroller has does it now. The other day a portion of the scroller was dedicated to the N.E. - N.Y.J. game, but all the scroller said was that the score was 0 - 0 and the game was on ESPN on Monday night.

ESPN has made itself part of the news that it covers and it's sad.

I always thought the 4 fundamental pillars of ESPN were the following:

-Red Sox/Yankees
-Duke/UNC Basketball
-BCS Football
-Brett Favre

no?

Count the ESPN/ABC bowl games and answer me this question. Would you promote the cash cow that funds your paycheck or would you pander to fan bases that do nothing to financially benefit your personal wealth. Come on people this is America last I looked and capitalism is our system.

Bookmark the ESPN/FCS page and get over this bias phobia. That mass amount of money they generate doing what they do also pays for your free access to ESPN3 and the streaming games the FCS now gets there.

Maybe we need to get over ourselves. FCS is microscopic peanut bits compared to the FBS/BCS. Why should they give a shit about this level of football? We're lucky they even air some of our playoff games with their shitty announcers.

While I agree with the above, I still think that the ticker at the bottom of the screen should include the scores. I'm not talking actual coverage here.

Amen.

Like it or not, people generally don't want to see games in small stadiums, especially those that have massive empty seats (MAC). A lot of our games look like high school games. Bottom line, love your team and try to forget everything else.

Agree. That's what I'm talking about...not actually covering the games (god forbid), but just providing scores. Seriously, is it too much to ask the ticker provide ALL football scores once per hour? They don't make money off of MMA, D2 football, D1 soccer, D2 soccer, or D3 soccer either, but I got those scores....

I caught all the playoff scores at least three times while I was flipping channels saturday night.

I spent two hours Sunday morning and never saw them.

Didn't you already know the scores by then? :?

Sorry, just being a dick. :ohno:

Yeah, no reason to explain why ESPN would seem to show scores from every other division of football and other college sports. I've always noticed though that there is no rhyme or reason to how they show scores on the tickers.

Thank god we get to watch some of the games on TV, right? If we weren't bitching about the lack of ticker scores the day after, we'd be bitching about the games not being on TV. There's no other way to explain it, ESPN cannot please us.

ESPN will send teams of reporters down to Mississippi for daily updates six years after Brett Favre retires for the last time. ;)

And I'll probably still be tuning in.

I was annoyed that I sat in a restaurant watching the ticker for a NDSU-MSU score update for almost an hour and never saw on on Saturday.

However, I was quite pleased to go on campus on Sunday and pull up a free replay of the entire game, with actually pretty good camera work and announcers who weren't half bad.

Thanks to ESPN, FSN, Versus, and Comcast FCS, west coast football has never been more available than it is right now.

And ESPN's football telecasts are a superior product to other networks IMO, especially the NFL Network. :ohno:

BTW, ESPN ScoreCenter on my droid phone sucks! Yeah, it includes up-to-the-minute updates on every score that I want (I programmed JMU football and all CAA football scores, all SoCon football scores, all Big Sky scores, Redskins scores, Capitals scores, Nat's scores, Oriole's scores, all English Premier League scores, PSV Eindhoven scores & FC Port scores) but goddammit, I can't watch live games within this app! Fuck you ESPN!

MASN had some quality coverage Saturday. I watched the WIU-ASU game and the Nova game afterward. All scores were scrolling.
