First, it's great to see another team from BSC winning...
Welcome Weber...
But what's with sudden influx of bandwagon fans...
I've been on this site for over a year...and on AGS for almost three years...and I think there's been one...maybe two Weber posters...occasionally...
True fans are here all the time...win or lose...

Like I said, I'm thrilled to see someone else get the BSC auto...so, from that's POV, I'm a Weber bandwagon fan too...

(I know, I'm assuming they get the auto...

)
But............

Sat through every game since 2001 season...win or lose...mostly lose...
We got a good coach 3 yrs ago and he's been slowly building the program just like he did at teh u of utah.
I didn't even know about this forum until you saw my first post recently, that and I've never really had a reason to post at all til this year.
So i should post on this blog year round every season to prove im a real fan? LOL
Also to defend myself, Weber State didn't even have its first forum until a year and a half ago.
Normally we go to the first football game and say, basketball is about to start! I can't wait! No anymore...
so I guess if u wanna call me a WSU bandwagoner...then sure! and proud of it!

And I'm not disagreeing...my hope is, they'll stick around and build this community...
So, maybe a little poke from me and some others...
Come on. jon...you know I'm just a little push over....

This season is new territory for Weber State football. Thank you for the attention! We are grateful for any fan we can get. (We might need the help of ACORN to pack the stands, though...)
I enjoy the reasoned posts from some of the old hands on this board, and I note with respect that it has taken years for the perennially successful teams to build up their programs and fan bases.
On the one hand, I do not think this year's WSU team is a flash in the plan. On the other hand, I recognize that it will take years to build up the Wildcat program and fan base.
This is what I admire about coach head coach Ron McBride. He's not just a coach. He is a leader and program manager, a V-8 firing on all cylinders! Mac is competitive in the moment but always covering many bases and looking to the future. He is building not just a team, but a program.
Weber is not a one-trick pony. This year's team reflects the breadth and depth of the mind and heart of Coach Mac.

And at the risk of incurring the rath of my Griz friends...I hope you are correct about the long term potential for Weber St...because a stronger, more diverse BSC is good for all FCS football...

If unknown pulls an Ap St and wins 3 str8 national titles will WSU start out the season ranked? Will WSU fans come to the games at that point? We beat UM infront of 3,700.

Well, I'm not joining the bandwagon but I tip my hat to Weber State. They are a tough team. Lets be honest here, the Griz played like absolute crap against weber in ogden. If they were to play again, it's a different outcome. I've never seen a game where the Griz had som many mistakes. But, I like the fact that other teams are getting better in the Big Sky. The Eastern conferences are much more competative than the Big Sky. Our teams need to get better as a whole and create more competative games.

No arguement from me on this...in fact, any conference that is dominated year after year by one or two teams drags down FCS football as a whole, IMHO...
But, I have east coast bias, don't you know...

You're probably right. But having a team that wins the title every year drags down the FCS as well. If appy state wins another one (which they just might), they need to think about moving up to D-1. The arguement could be made that the other FCS teams just need to get better, but at some point something has to be done. I hear that Appy state gets a lot of D-1 players to transfer there if they arent starting for a bigger school. But, maybe Armanti Edwards is just that good. They have one hell of a program but it's not good for the FCS having the same team win every year.

Weber State at Idaho State:
666 total yards
306 yrds rushing
Cameron Higgins 360 yrds passing, 3 TDs
Trevyn Smith 3 TD's, 143 yds rushing and broke the all-time rushing record at WSU.

Ya, weber is the real deal, although you are talking about Idaho State who has the 2nd longest losing streak in football. Weber should do well in the playoffs though, I think the momentum and confidence that they have right now will cause problems for other teams.

Just remember, every other team in the playoffs will have momentum and confidence too...it won't be something exclusive to Weber...I remember two short years ago, a team was scheduled into Wa-Griz for a playoff...all we heard was how the atmosphere and home record confidence of Wa-Griz was going to blow us out of the stadium...how'd that work out???
I wish you guys luck in the playoffs, and sincerely hope you kick some butts...but, don't count on momentum and confidence alone...

I hear what you're saying Hogan. Well, it's great that you have Umass pride but I was talking about weber, not montana. Yes, I remember the game 2 years ago. Anyway, the griz better get their act together if they want to do well in the playoffs. Todays game against idaho state was the worst I've seen them play since the weber state game.

Bold prediction...unless you already have tickets and plan to attend no matter what...
Otherwise, don't forget to come back and eat your crow if your team falters...
Good Luck...
