Baldwin Rumors????
I just saw on eGriz that EWU coach Beau Baldwin is already shopping for a FBS job.
Has anyone else heard this? Is one season enough to seal a legit FBS job? (By that, I'm specifically excluding the Sun Belt and maybe the WAC).

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

More impressive season than Lembo's had. MAC for sure.

If it's true, what a complete dick Baldwin is for letting the rumor get out before the NC.SuperHornet wrote:I just saw on eGriz that EWU coach Beau Baldwin is already shopping for a FBS job.

Re: Baldwin Rumors????
I don't think he's "shopping" for anything except a National Championship! Hopefully, he'll get it on 7 January 2011!
The guy is a class act, and a great coach!!

All good grizo, and I am with you as long as Baldwin is not out shopping.Grizo406 wrote:I don't think he's "shopping" for anything except a National Championship! Hopefully, he'll get it on 7 January 2011!

But he and his players should be concentrating on nothing but the NC game until it is over - and they have won!

How long was Richmond's coach there before he went to Virginia?SuperHornet wrote:I just saw on eGriz that EWU coach Beau Baldwin is already shopping for a FBS job.

But, he won the National Championship in his first year as HC at Richmond in 2008.Mvemjsunpx wrote:2 years.SeattleGriz wrote:

Re: Baldwin Rumors????
London was introduced at Virginia the Tuesday after losing to App in the playoffs. It was an open secret that week that London was gone after Richmond lost. He told the players in the locker room after the game.
Paul Johnson accepted the job at Navy in the middle of the 2001 playoffs before GSU played App in the quarterfinals.
It wouldn't be unheard of for Baldwin to accept another job before the finals.

Lots of talk about this on the above link. By the way, this thread was started by someone claiming to be an EWU fan - this was their first post on the board. Coincidence?
In my opinion, it's someone with some sort of agenda trying to start rumors.
It's completely plausible that he could end up with a HC job at an FBS school in the not-so-distant future, even as early as next tear, but I find it highly suspect that these rumors start flying right before the NC game. You can be sure that Coach Baldwin is focused on winning a NC, not pre-occupied with other things. He is a class act. Personally, I think he'll be back for another couple years to build on his resume before he goes to the Pac-10 or elsewhere. On the other hand, he hasn't renewed his contract yet, so it could be true. There's always some small element of truth in almost every rumor so who knows.
That said, there were similar threads posted on both egriz (by someone claiming to be a Griz fan) and our board (by someone claiming to be an EWU fan) on the same day, so you can draw your own conclusions.

Re: Baldwin Rumors????
I happen to have a buddy who is way high up in athletic administration at a big time university I won't name that says it's a fact that Baldwin is joining Hauck in Vegas as OC where they will dominate the MWC for a couple of seasons giving Montana time to win two more NC's, upgrade their facilities, and accept an invite from the PAC-10 at which point Bobby will make his triumphant return to Missoula with the next Chip Kelly (Baldwin) in tow. After several PAC 10 championships and BCS bowl bids, Hauck will retire from coaching to become A.D., and the man in waiting, Baldwin, will assume the Griz head coaching throne, where he'll send plays in via que cards with pictures of Alpha going through the seven stages of grieving.
You heard it here first.

This is not true, but the rest of your commentary about London is. Things may have been sealed for his return to Charlottesville as early as mid-October.T-Dog wrote:\He told the players in the locker room after the game.
