We know his color dough ass. Did you realize it was white people that elected him? I think you're gonna have a hard time getting the race thing going if that's what you're after here BF. Of course you haven't ran in to Cap'n Cat, Citdog, Appaholic, D1B, and a couple of others that don't mind throwing jabs back and forth on the race issue yet so...

Im disappointed that some of you are racist. however, YOUR president is Black. Its a fact. why are you so angry about that? face it. he's a college football fan by the way therefor its relevant.

Blacks represent 12% of the national population so of course whites voted obama in. HE ALSO won the popular vote so it further proves that white voted him in. having said that. its sad that some of you guys are still racist.

Actually, I don't think anyone here is racists. A bunch of a-holes that like stirring the pot, but what the hey.

I do know for a fact that YOU are homophobic, and celebrated the denial of equality for ALL AMERICANS, so that makes you as bad as the most racist KKK member.

I have nothing against any gay person personally, however, since i am not gay, and i feel gays should not be able to call a union "marriage. that does not make me a bigget. i just feel gays' union should not be called a marriage. and the state of california feels the same.

So you would vote for Civil Unions that would have all the same rights as marriage?

i DONT feel gays should die, or be killed or treated any way differnt than the next man. BUT u can always marry a woman. but the DEFINITION of MARRIAGE is man + woman. what u should do is call it a different word that means man+man.

yes i WOULD be in favor of a union with all the rights of marriage. like the funeral thing, and the tax things and all that HOWEVER "marriage" that specific word, holds certain ideals that many heterosexuals DONT want to inter-mingle. its SAD but its also true and i know YOU know that.

I know there are many on both sides that get hung up on a word. Marriage is both civil and religious. But the definition of marriage is not static, either. It started out as civil, as a way to conveigh property. What you think of marriage today is a very, very recent invention.

And what ideals do you not want to intermingle?

If the next President were more like Tony Dungee or Tom Jackson I would be delighted. :)

You are correct, its much different now, much because gay are MUCH more accepted, however they are not fully accepted.

Im gonna keep it real, and im not trying to be messed up or mean. But when most straight men think of two men laying in bed together its repulsive, gays have a long way to go and yes on 8 is gonna make it harder for u guys nationwide.

There are even gay men pretending to be straight, that are against gay rights. I know youve seen the politicians and catholic priests.

Gays are no fully accepted in the US, and if i was gay i would probably be fighting for what i believe in also, however im not and im against gay marriage.

Society changes over time. Even 50 years ago, the thought of a black man laying in bed with a white woman was repulsive to most of the nation. It still is to some.

It is not just priests and politians. There are many, many married gays. I saw it all over the South. There are many black gay men on the DL, because of lack of acceptance.

And thanks for having a rational discussion!

wOw! I too am very impressed with BlackFalkin's reasoned discussion. Keep it up man, it's great to have different perspectives on issues from various cultures. I said in my first post that I thought you would have a tough time getting the racial angle started but that some would definitley verbally joust with you if that's what you were looking for...not that there were a bunch of racists. Some of the guys I listed were part of the crew that heoped get Barrack elected after all.

a. why is EWU guy calling everyone in here racist when he is the only one making ignorant comments?

b. why would this EWU guy assume we all voted for McStain when Obama schooled him in the election, hence, more of us voted Obama.

c. i think the prez is as white as black, no?

d. this thread is very relevant to FCS football, how did we not bring this up earlier?

e. again, chris, any chance you can delete this thread?

f. any chance this EWU guy will post on his own forum? eagles.bigskyfans.com?

g. why are we discussing gay rights? if only there was a place for this thread...

I didn't even notice which board this was posted on but it should have been posted in the locker room. It's not a big issue. Gay rights was brought into the conversation as a comparison between the rights others have sought and the gay population striving for the like. This site is a self policed and things do not get deleted (nor should they) unless it is a vile, hate thing. Colorful discussions between adults can work themselves out. The fact that we can hancle our own business like men and not be treated as children is one of my favorite things about this site. Black Falkin stirs up a little crap and is fairly entertaining if you don't take things too seriously and it is obvious that he has been hiding a good deal of intelligence from us in the past couple of weeks. I want him to keep posting to show more of his repertoire.

Blackfalcon, did you not listen to Obamas speech? Black,white,straight,gay,disabled-he doesn't agree with people like you. And by the way, since you like to throw out facts; he's half white & half black. This place is for football anyway, why are we talking about this?
