Interesting that none of the GSU folks have chimed in about App being ranked over GSU despite GSU advancing further in the playoffs and winning head to head against App...

THIS IS BULLETIN BOARD MATERIAL!!!!!!!!!!

With a playoff - the final poll should be at the end of the regular season.

Final pools don't mean a whole lot. Its the pre-season polls that really matter because they set the table for the season. If your in the top 10 in the preseason you can almost allow for a let down game and still get back into the playoffs. If you are on the outside looking in at the beginning of the season you almost can't afford to lose a single game.

With that said I think that next year EWU will start off #1 since they have a ton of talent returning including Mitchell, Taiwon Jones, DT Renard Williams, Johnson brothers on defense and most of their offensive line.

Considering that both Delaware and Villanova lose their starting qb's, I would put Appalachian State #2.

After that I don't know enough about the teams to make a guess except that if NDSU can find a way to pass the ball that they will be tough.

You just described the exact reason why no preseason polls should exist while at the same time apparently arguing for preseason polls?

Interesting theoretical paradox....

No polls matter. Not preseason, not midway through the season, not right before the brackets are announced. The committee doesn't use any of them. I

NAU's probably crapping their pants that the Hornets got more points than the Jacks did.

That's what I said earlier in the thread. Except you have to get all snobby about it and use big words.

Saw on twitter that it was Towson's SID that voted UD number 1.

Exactly.

Funny that a lot of people still use the TSN poll as some sort of cut on the NCAA when seedings come out and so forth. Fun to argue about but that's as far as it goes.

Yeah.......I was interpreting for those of us above the Mason-Dixon Line and, of course, east of the Delaware River.

Nova did beat Delaware in November, beat the #1 seed and lost to the National Champion on the road in the playoffs. Delaware lost on a neutral field to the same National Champion.
