East-West Shrine Game Thread

3:53 left with the East leading 19-8 right now.
I won't break down this tape for another day or so but just speaking generally and looking at the stats it appears as though my sources from the week were correct if practice performance translates to the game. Devlin is struggling. Julius Thomas looks very good. The announcers gave him some nice pub too. He has a shot to go mid rounds as a definite sleeper prospect. Most draft sites didn't know who he was until he got the Combine invite but he is certainly helping himself.

Unless Devlin comes back in he will finish 2-7 for 22 yards and an INT.
Julius Thomas had one catch for a 5-yard touchdown.

SCFballFan, how do you feel that Justin Rogers aquitted himself in Orlando? Obviously, Parker played very well yesterday. I think with a good combine showing, both of these guys may have more upside than your projected round for each of them.

Sounds like Thomas had a great week. It is hard to get noticed when you only play one season of college football and the team only wins two games. Makes it difficult to get noticed. Good for him and good exposure for Portland State athletics.

having a hard time figuring out how the leading kick return guy in the country did not get an invite.
Gerald Stevenson of Chuck South. Is he really that small that they don't even want to look at him?

Stats don't mean anything. There are four-year starters in FBS and starters on national championship teams who don't get invites. He likely ends up in the CFL because he is so small. If he were 185 or 190 I think he would get stronger looks but at 163 pounds I just don't see a NFL team giving him more than a tryout.

Sounds like Flacco numbers in the 3rd quarter last weekend.

I wonder how many receptions David Meggett had last weekend, rumor has it he's a WIDE Receiver nowadays.

Sounds like Matt Gratzek is calling it a career, he is having microfracture knee surgery on Monday and with the rehab it would just put him out of football for too long. Amazing the guy played so well with a bad knee.
