Let's resume the trash talk that we had preseason. Where were we....ah yes, you were just talking about how we run a pop warner offense and about how we are a thing of the past in the FCS and how our coach is a nobody that can't hold a candle to the legendary Bill Curry.

yeah and we can only hope to recruit such a great punter as them or 2am or noon spots on sportscenter, because High school athletes aren't at school and are awake at those hours

OOH! This looks like a good discussion that I don't think I saw previously.

Come on GAST what say you?

BTW, Georgia Southern is and always has been and always will be the bench mark that you should look to one day be at.

Pretty sure we should be ready for a new attendance champion in FCS next year.

nah - you can run a profitable program in their position... 4 money games a year once they go FBS... bring in Alabama to the Georgia Dome - bring in Clemson - travel to two ass beatings... collect your checks... start the conference season 0-4 but $1 million richer...

and since they'll be in the Sun Belch - maybe once every 4 years pull out a conference title and MAACO bowl or something.

of course - there might be more money for them being an independent whipping boy - with that huge stadium and big market... every major program in the country would love to travel to an NFL stadium, wallop the local squad, and get shown on television in the fertile recruiting ground that is Georgia...

it's not a recipe for success, so much a financially sustainable venture.

How do we know they will still be able to use the dome in the not-so-near future when they make their move to FBS, if they even make it at all?

The Dome is a publicly-owned facility... much like the Metrodome here in MN... They'll let them play until they can't pay the rent - or Arthur Blank successfully convinces Georgians to build a new palace for Matt Ryan.

Just ask the Georgia State painther fans.....the Georgia Dome will be too small for their amazing crowds when they go FBS in the Sun Belt next year.

But GaySt plays in the Dome in a major US city.
Don't you know that they will be bigger than GaTech within the next 5 years.

I see that their 2011 schedule is, um... er... ambitious like last year's.

I hear Clark Atlanta is looking to crack the BCS standings this year.

Just a LOVELY avatar for 2011. Wow

Clark-Atlanta is a smart move. They are across town less than 5 miles away and there a lot of families in Atlanta that alumni from both schools. They were #2 in Div II attendance with 11k per game. So it has the potential to be another huge attendance opener.

You do realize your quoting 2009 article by of all journalistic entities BLEACHER REPORT!

Look dude, everyone should have the best interests of THEIR school in hand. Why should I worry about W&M's future? That's what YOU are there for; to make sure that your school and football are best positioned to succeed. To hate on GSU for FBS is talk is just silly, especially when no Big City start up has ever made it to Year 6 in FBS and when UMass and Nova are doing the same thing in their big cities. We have 2 choices, we can sit in FCS and watch our enrollment increase to 50k in 7 years while our attendance starts to dwindle after the new car smell is gone and then talk about moving up OR we can start being proactive now so that in 5 to 7 years we are already there. Simply put, GSU has to do whats best for GSU. Having said that, I will support my team againts St Francis, Lambuth, Bama or Tennessee and against any CAA opponent.

Dont recall seeing it so cant say. I do know that a LOT of people would find Blackface given its historical connotations very offensive. But that is not what we are here to discuss, So I am done with it.
