Coastal bails on the return trip for the home-and-home and GSU adds DII Tusculum for game number 2. GSU's OOC schedule is now Presbyterian, Tusculum, and Alabama. As good as I'm pretty sure we'll be next year, missing the playoffs by losing 4 games isn't too much of a stretch with the SoCon being what it'll probably be this year.

Before GA State & Towson bailed on us, we had five road games: at Georgia, at Georgia Southern, at Liberty, at Stony Brook, & at Charleston Southern. We can't do anything about the three Big South games. And considering the pay day we'll receive at Athens, we weren't going to cancel the UGA game. Enter Georgia Southern.
Our AD had to cancel one of our OOC away games seeing that two of our other originally scheduled contests (both were to be home games) now will most likely be on the road. We're only going to have five home games this year counting the newly added Catawba game. We haven't had more than five homes games since the 2008 season (six that year).
I really hate the way this ordeal transpired. Believe me, 99% of all Coastal fans hate it too. Even though we're 0-3 against you guys, I like really like playing GSU. I just hope Baker doesn't hold this against us in the future if a spot comes open in the SoCon (like a previous poster elaborated in another thread).

It would be very hypocritical for him to do that, seeing how the main reason Sammy bought out of the NDSU game on short notice was to get six home games. At least Coastal has agreed to play the game later, GSU won't be going to Fargo any time soon.

Why wouldn't you want to come to ND? It's America's hidden gem

They remember their trip to SD last time. And now they have SD and ND confused with each other due to the Bisons run into the playoffs last year.

FWIW, there's not a Coastal fan I've talked to about this that's at all happy with us dropping GSU for Catawba. I for one had my trip to Statesboro planned out, and was looking forward to getting down there for the game. I tried to join GSUFans to express the same thoughts there, but my account was never approved.
To be honest the whole situation sucks - I wish we'd never have pushed the game back to 2015, but it is what it is and now we both have crappy D2 games in the place of what probably would have been a pretty good game.

It's understandable, they probably don't even know that the dakota's are a part of the United States either.
It's a shame because I was looking forward to GSU coming up to the Dome. Two proud programs with rich tradition (In any division)
