Hell Freezing over???

Would hell freeze over if Weber St. and Montana both got seeds this year?
Would all of the Big Fluffy Sky talk cease?
Would anybody give any props to the Big Sky Conference?
Would a few NDSU fans jump off the local bridge if it happened?

Has a single conference ever received more than one top 4 seeded position??? Honest question as I don't know...
I ask because I don't see the committee giving one conference...ANY CONFERENCE...more than one top 4 seeded position...
I could be wrong....

Well if two BSC teams got in weber would get the auto bid with Montana getting an at large bid. But if Montana loses to MSU i see the Cats getting in over the Griz. And speaking of that a rumor has been buzzing around the SUU ADs office of a montana team coming down here

We're not talking bids here...I can clearly see two BSC teams making it this year (Weber and Montana)...
The question was, two seeds...which I don't see happening...
Which ever team gets the BSC auto-bid should/could get the seed...IMHO...
I say could because the committee has been known to send auto-bid teams on the road with another conference team getting a seed (see SOCON last year)...

2005: Didn't Furman and App have tp4 seeds?

That's my question...and I'm being lazy and not researching it right now...
I can't remember, but if through the fog you remember this happening, then I bow to your overwhelming knowledge...(remember, to overwhelm me with knowledge doesn't take much...)

Can the NCAA afford that much gas?

Getting Seeds <> Making Noise In The Playoffs.
Until TWO BSC teams BOTH make noise (as in, deep run) in the same year, the Big Fluffy talk won't cease...and with SOME people (89Hen, GannonFan, you know who you are) even THAT won't be enough.

I don't think Furman was a top 4 seed but last year UNI and SIU were top 4 seeds.

Seeds from the same conference (since '01):
2001 - Georgia Southern (#2) and Furman (#3)
2004 - Furman (#2) and Georgia Southern (#4)
2007 - Northern Iowa (#1) and Southern Illinois (#4)
2008 - two possibilities: James Madison and Villanova or Weber and Montana.

And this time you are not having to say that to the General.

So it is possible. Thanks for the info

Man. That must seem like a million years ago for GSU fans.

Agreed. Unfortunately I don't see both BSC teams getting seeds no matter how deserving they are.

How about the selection committee snubbing both of them and claming ASU, JMU, CP and Vill./UNI as the seeds?
I would not want to be in the same town as AZ if that happened. The words ECB would be heard for miles around.

It should be Griz #1 and Wildcats #2 (in some order, anyway), but the ECBers will never allow that to happen.
I would also put Cow Poly in at #3, but that's going WAY off the deep end, I know.
In any event, these three would be seeded in the top 6-8, but we'll never know due to the committee's dumb four-seed idea.
I'd prefer to see four regional pods seeded 1-4 myself.

Ok, here you go Super.
Montana, Weber St, and CP all win this weekend
App St. and JMU both lose.
Would that be enough for the committee to put all three as seeds?

It should be, but it won't.

I agree. It is tough to get by the CAA is the best conference. The problem I am seeing is the FCS playoffs are starting to take on the March Madness crap.
"Let's take the top 4-5 CAA teams because that is the best conference. Cal Poly, they play in the Great West which is not tough and they are on the left coast. We need to bus the east coast teams and sqrew the west because there are not very many teams out there." Weber vs. Poly or Montana vs. Poly in the first round shafts all three schools. App will get a low rated team, JMU will get the lowest rated team just like Delaware did last year and Weber, as a possible 3 seed would get the #3 team in the country....

James Madison gets the #1 seed
Appy State gets the #2 seed
UNI gets the #3 seed
And Weber State gets the #4 seed

And although i might agree with you, there is absolutely nothing in UNI's resume that would warrant them getting a seed...

in reality i think montana might just get the 4 seed or maybe even the 3..... i think weber will get left out of seed and it might fire them up to get deep in the playoffs. i think the comm. will like montana's resume. and with CP losing and UM almost already jumping uni... jmu, appst, UM and VIll get seeds

Montana needs to beat Montana St first.
As a NDSU fan, I think it would be great for a western conference to get 2 seeds.
