Who Got Screwed?

My award goes to JMU. They way they played this year, they DESERVED a cupcake. And there were plenty to go around, yet somehow they come up empty again.
Honorable mention goes to Cal Poly. But for a kicker they'd be undefeated with two FBS wins. Instead, they get stuck with an offensive juggernaut in Weber State. Man, would I love to be at this game. And if I heard someone correctly, Cal Poly, Montana and Weber are ALL in the same side of the bracket?
Just as I predicted. Fucking JOKE.

Wofford got screwed by having to play JMU in the first round.
Should have sent them to Montana or UNI to kick some butt.

They seemingly went back to the heavily regionalized bracketing like we saw in 2001 & 2002. All the west teams together, all the south teams together, all the midwest teams together, etc. Montana could have played NAU in the 2001 Quarterfinals, but they lost a shootout to Sam Houston. Montana could have even played Montana State in the 2002 Quarterfinals, but MSU lost to McNeese by 7. Now, if the Griz win, they will either play Cal Poly again or Weber again. Not what I would have done, but it fits the regionalism/lower travel costs approach.

I hope to see a Weber State/Montana rematch.

Villanova got screwed by not getting a seed (instead of UNI).
JMU arguably got screwed for drawing Wofford, but I believe the Dukes are still the better team & should win by at least 10.
No-one left out of the playoffs has a legitimate beef, though, since the borderline teams were pretty equal & noticeably inferior to the other 7 at-larges.

They should televise the JMU vs. Wofford game. When I was listening to ESPNU tonight, I could hear it in JMU's head coach's voice how pissed off he was. This could be used a motivation for the JMU players. Even though JMU is the #1 team, I will be suprisied if they get through it by getting passed Wofford, Villanova, Montana/Cal Poly/Weber St, and whoever comes out the other side.

I agree it's a good field, but heavily loaded in ASU's favor.

UNI got screwed last year. UNH was not the worst team in the bracket. Delaware got a practice game and we got a physical and emotional thriller.
JMU got screwed with Wofford. Villanova should've been seeded. I think we had some arguement, but they had a better case. Whatever, it is what it is.
Not sure how we ended up with the 3 seed. Would've rather had the 4 seed. Better chance of JMU losing than App St in my opinion.

As I said, the committee paved ASU's way as best they could to a 4th NC. Ridiculous.

Yeah. Looks like an App st vs whoever makes it game in Chatty. They didn't help JMU get there.

Everybody has to play whoever. I'm just glad our division has a playoff system instead of a beauty contest like the FBS.

Well, if JMU gets there (or whoever gets there from that side) they'll be draggin' ass....

I repeat from other thread......
OK....so let's break this down.....there were 3 REALLY good consistenet teams this year....JMU, ASU & Cal Poly....you can argue Weber St all you want to, but the fact is they shared the conference title and finished outside the top10. So, yes, you have 5 in one bracket and 3 in the other....so, in restrospect:
1- yes, a case could have been made to put Villanove in the AppSt-SIU bracket to more evenly distribute the top 8 teams;
2- NO, this action by the committee is not comparable to the amount of whining being initiated by AZGriz....

Gotta agree with you on this one, Appa...could it have been better...maybe...but no one got SCREWED...someone had to play a tougher schedule, since there isn't an equal number of quality teams and "cupcakes" ...
And since on any given day any given team can win, especially once they have been weaned down to just 16...it is whining to claim anyone got screwed...
I'm betting JMU isn't going to worry...play the game to the best of your ability...

Especially after the Halloween debacle....just hope JMU knows to sit on the ball inside the 20 late in the game....

Kinda like how ASU counts on that country music singer to get another win...
Your jealousy is showing...

Well in my personal opinion It looks like Montana, JMU and Cal Poly got screwed over. And i have to agree the comittee made it easy for App State but i will say richmond is a pretty good team. Other then that however go MUSTANGS!! represent the Great West!

Hey all, I'm new to the boards. I will go on record as saying I'm an ASU alum and I want to see them win #4. However, from the standpoint of the committee, I think this boils down to economics, plain and simple.
If ASU has the fortitude to make it to the final game again, any college sports team going for their 4th National Championship in a row makes for good TV on a Friday night in mid-December before the travesty that is the FBS rears its ugly head.
Yeah, I should be arguing as to why the brackets are equal, but money makes the world go round and that HAS to come into the Selection Committee's thinking.
BTW, did anyone hear the playoff selection committee show on the Appalachian Radio Network last night? Jerry Moore was pretty short and irritated with the "booth guys" when he called into the show. I wonder what's up?

Yeah, you're new and this is dumb.
Sorry, dude, but this conspiracy shit for or against is whacko crap.
