1-James Madison (11-1) vs Villanova (10-2)
4-Montana (12-1) vs Weber State (10-3)
2-Appalachian (11-2) vs Richmond (10-3)
3-Northern Iowa (11-2) vs New Hampshire (10-2)

Which team has the best chance to upset a seed ?

Probably best chance is Villanova over JMU. They should have won the first match this year. Weber State could beat Montana since they already have this year. Don't see Richmond knocking off App. St. Only give them about a 15% chance of winning. I also wouldn't be too surprised if UNH beats UNI.

Agreed...Villanova has been showing strong throughout the year...no big name blowouts, but having knocked out Richmond, NH solidly already...and only losing to JMU by 4...JMU better bring their A-game.

Appy, unless they take a dump. And UNI should be able to snuff out NH. In my only miss this week, I had the Saluks over NH by a nose...UNH came out tougher than I expected...but UNI ain't the Saluks.

Weber-Montana probably the toughest call. The Griz have indeed been picking up steam...but all this talk about the Cats having peaked is B.S. They handled CP like they were just another team on the sched. This could go either way...but unless injury reports say otherwise, I'm taking the Cats on a two poss. win.

This is what i believe will happen in the upcoming Quarterfinal Games:

Villanova Vs. JMU- A very close game early in the year between two very good teams. I personally think one of these guys should be against App State this year but thats another topic....anyways im going to pick Villnova over JMU this time in another close game: 27-24 Villnova

Montana vs. Weber-Another very close game that i think will come down to the very end. The real story of this game will be if Montanas D can stop the Wildcats O and vice versa. Now everyone says Weber State manhandled Cal Poly but i disagree. Cal Poly had 5 turnovers and it STILL was only a 14 point game in the end. Im going to have to give the nod to the Griz since the Cats havent won there since 1987: 38-28 Montana

App State Vs. Richmond- I think that this will be another close game despite what many people think. App State only beat SCSU in the fourth quarter! It was a very tight game until then and App State squeaked by with was supposed to be a big win agains a "cupcake" as many of you thought. I am going to give Richmond the edge because it seem App State may not be able to pull away as easily in this one: 34-28 Richmond.

Uni vs NH: Again like the rest of the Quarter Final Games this will be a close one. UNI barely beat NH last year on "the catch" as that can be seen on youtube. This one will be a defensive struggle i think due to the fact that both teams seem to have a pretty decent D. I am going to go with UNI on this one though just because (again) they are home: 20-10 UNI

All of them are certainly possible. I think Nova's going to knock off JMU because of their outstanding run defense and the fact they mostly shut down the Dukes the first time. Weber could upset Montana, but I don't think it'll happen because Montana isn't going to give Weber 4 gift turnovers this time (I'm pretty sure they won't be handing the ball to Kevin Klaboe, at any rate). I'm leaning toward App State, but Richmond can win if they can avoid being shredded by Armanti like they were last year. The one game I really don't have a feeling on is UNI/UNH. Not sure what's going to happen there.

I would not be surprised at any of them.

Spot on...the 8 teams left in the field are all capable of winning this weekend...

I would not consider any an upset...I understand if its your school, you will...but really, any team is capable this weekend...

Here's something else I was thinking about...has there ever been a quarter finals weekend where two of the matches were same conference rematches from the regular season?

It happens each year that one matchup at this level will be conference breathern...but two?

I'm sure Nova wants Weber to win, since that's their only chance at a home game. I doubt JMU wants either one to win, since their hands will be full either way.

Looking at this site here, it has never happened before.

This is also the first time 2 Big Sky teams have played each other in the playoffs since Nevada beat Boise in the '90 semis.

I wouldnt consider Weber beating Montana an upset, they have already done that this year, and I wouldnt consider being at home an advantage for the Griz, who will be playing their 9th home of the year this weekend, because Weber has dominated on the road this season, outscoring thier FCS opponents 217- 115, thats a 102 point difference. And Weber State has played incredably well the last 3 times they visited the Grizzlies, in 2003, Weber held montana touchdown-less and lost 12 to 7, in 2005, Montana only beat Weber by five 24 to 19, and last year Weber led 10 to 3 at halftime to lose in the end 18 to 10. In those previous years, Weber lacked what they now have, A juggernaut Offense. Now that Weber has such a powerful offense, look out.

And Montana is going to need more than just Chase Reynolds to win this game.

Weber by 14

45 to 31 8-)

It is considered an upset by some including TSN even though Colleson was at Part 1.

Absolutely Weber St. because of the possibility of a home game. Has nothing to do with the actual teams - if Weber were seeded 4th, I'd want Montana.
