Put Poly, Weber, and Montana in different brackets and then lets talk. don't even go there when they put all 3 western team up against each other in the first two games.

Give me a break Hen, you must be using sarcasm because I don't think even you could be so misguided.

This is also perfectly set up for Hen to come BACK here if the Griz lose to JMU AT JMU....you know, the old "Montana can't win on the road" argument. Never mind that this was a rebuilding year and JMU has been ranked #1 all year...

But what can he say if Montana happens to come out of JMU with a W?

But D1B lifted the Curse from Montana's back. Montana has just as good a chance as anybody to leave JMU with another win.

OK. I am officially confused. Why is it that teams like UNI DON'T count as Western teams when it's convenient for the argument, but they DO count as western teams when it's NOT?

Is or is NOT UNI West of the Mississippi? (For the geographically challenged like Col Hogan, don't answer)...

Is, or is NOT UNI considered a "western" team?

There were FIVE teams in the tournament that reside WEST of the Mississippi. TWO of those teams are in the final four. And if the committee had a brainstem, it'd have been more. Blaming Western teams for committee incompetence is plain ignorant, Hen.

Az,

UNI is west of the MIssissippi and should be considered a western team if one were to divide the country in two. Now if you divide the country differently (i.e. east, central & west) than it isn't.

In his defense, I believe (from what I remember of previous posts) that Hen has been consistent in not considering UNI a western team. I don't know if that is because of how he divides the country or because of conference affiliate (before WKU left and NDSU & SDSU joined, UNI and Mo St were the only two teams out of 8 that were west of the Mississippi).

But I do agree that it sure is convenient when people decide whether or not UNI is a western team based on how it affects their argument.

Actually Hens original complaint was on the Big Fluff Conference. How it was Montana and everybody else. No other teams has consistently gone deep into the playoffs and, therefore, the conference was weak. Despite the facts that the #1 team has consistently been beaten by a Big Sky team (not Montana)over the recent past (NAU over McNeese, Eastern over SIU) that holds no credence.

The committee put the boots to the Big Sky and Great West this year. Yes it guaranteed that one of the teams would make it to the semis but it also guaranteed that 3 would be knocked out by each other unlike the CAA whose teams were spread out. Now that could backfire if they all lose, and their good teams won, however, their at least their fates were not sealed by the committee like they did with Weber, Montana, and Poly

UNI has never won a national title, therefore, they have to be a western team.....however, this year is really pissing on my whole "Socon vs Big Fluffy" argument.....

soem how you all seem to forget that there are over 10x more east teams then west.....so to have one in the final four (two if you count UNI) its pretty good

If this DOPE would have opened his eyes, he would have realized that there were only 3 western teams, and all 3 of them had to play each other in the first and second rounds. Thanks FCS.
