North Dakota State
Day: Saturday
Date: Sept. 3, 2011
Location: Fargo, N.D.
Time: TBA

Last season the Leopards were a perfectly balanced team in number of plays

Rushing attempts 390 Avg/game 110
passing attempts 390 avg/game 250

Expect a good rushing day for NDSU. Last season they gave 173 yds/game and 18 TDs.
A good test for the NDSU passing defense. A good test for the defensive backs. The Leopards will take advantage of any weakness.

The Leopards have a stingy pass defense. This will be a challenge for the BISON offense.

Hold it on Minot State. I believe this is the first year of their transition from the NAIA to D2. They are not members yet.

Its an exhibition game either way and shouldn't even be included in your won lost record. Im not sure if D2 or any of the other lower divisions include them? From what I saw last season when NDSU visited Bozeman is that Minot might have a good chance.

I double checked the passing defense of the Leopards and its not as stingy as I thought. They are giving up just under 180 yds/game. NDSU may not have to throw a pass.

A positive for the Leopards is their QB O'neil I think his name is returns. He is the man when it comes to their offense.

Looking at the rosters NDSU has more balance and experience.

One thing about Coach Bohl is playbook management. It will be interesting to see how this game is set up. Will it be wide open or close to the vest?

Including UND the BSC as a whole doesnt have a very good record against the NAIA. There are 2 NAIA > D2 transition games this year however. An exciting year for BSC football. These games are real gems. I dont think the Dakotas could have been more entertained by anything than the University of Sioux Falls win over UND. A Minot win @ Bozeman would sure send a ripple across the old prairie too!

Getting back to "The Game", I think The BISON are going to have too much outside speed on these guys. Its going to be up the middle dive play, dive play, bounce outside big gainer type game. I hope we never pass unless we have too. Once the middle gives way its going to be 5 - 10 yds/play. Big gainers, score after score. A 42-9 type game.

And this is going to be different from any other prediction all year how? Every thread is going to be the same.

We better pass the ball in this game. We can run the ball, but we aren't gonna beat the uni's of the world without having enough of a passing game to keep their defense honest. The first game is a good game to get a lot of reps to our younger receivers.
