kids make mistakes. I wonder how the school is going to handle such a high profile player screwing up this badly.

Thing is that Nate was already busted for underage drinking at ND prior to transfer. Not a good indicator.

At least this may get Forcier interested in UM, thinking he may get playing time. Don't know if that is a good thing for UM or not. That cat is a headcase.

Nate wasn't going to get to play anyway... at least not at QB. Daddy must be proud.

Exactly. The question at this point is:

Does Joe Montana = Craig James?

My only hope would be that they handle it just like if it were any other kid......Which is (I assume) legally the way they have to!

Not so. They could go overboard because he's an athlete as BYU did to "show" that they're tough on this sort of thing.

Dude...if you don't realize that there's a difference between UM and BYU when it comes to sex, drugs, and alcohol, you're more clueless than previously thought.

I didn't say that I EXPECT them to do that. I merely mention it as a possibility.

Without ever playing a down, with being a transfer, with previous problems...I hope Pflu sits this kid down for at least 4 games. He wasn't going to be QB anyways.

Have to agree. Any other walk on would be fuckin gone. But you're right, at the end of spring, JJ looked better in pretty much every facet.

I don't give a rats ass if Nate was 80-80 900 yds passing with 16 TD's and 450 yards rushing in the spring games, he gets time to sit. He just got here...TRANSFER. He should be on his best behavior.

And not holding him to differnt, higher, standards than every other athlete. But he should WANT to be better. He has the HOF'er dad and anything he does brings the spotlight right to him/University of Montana/his father. He should know if he screws up it will be reported.

I am sure he could have gotten someone else to drive him or call a cab or whatever last night. I am sure his dad wouldn't mind kicking in a few bucks for a cab ride for his kid. WE ALL HAVE DONE WRONG AT THAT AGE, he just should know that being HIS son he should be extra careful.

Agreed 100%.

He should know better, and $ for a cab isn't going to be an issue with him. His dad is worth BANK, and he was only there at the jail for 30 minutes; you know he had that cash/check on him, and didn't have to rely on his dad to bail him out. Speaks volume about his discipline not only as an athlete, but as a person. No wonder he never got a chance at ND.

I run into this quite a bit talking about the Blazers. The idea that somehow an athlete should have the same level of logic as a 30 or 40 or 50 year old at the age of 20. For me, the idea of taking a cab home from a bar after drinking was not something I considered until I was in my late 20's. But back then, growing up in Montana, a designated driver was the one in our group who did not drink as much as the rest of us (but still did their fair share of drinking during the night).

Yes, we all have done things in college that we look back now and are not too proud of. College life does that and it does not matter if you are famous or not, or if your parents or relatives are famous or not.

And you know this how? Remember that Pops didn't start at the Dome until he was a freaking senior. And even at that, he wasn't drafted until the third round. Drafting QBs is pretty much a crapshoot, anyway, especially when talking about first rounders. Ryan Leaf was #2 overall, but was a bust of Sampson proportions. On the other hand, Kurt Warner was undrafted but is probably going into the team HOF for two teams.

SH.....His history...His spring....He would be better off, like Ursus said either in another thread or at a lunch, he would be moved to Safety or something else....

Kicker might be a good thing for him.

Jeez, big deal on what happened at ND. The police raided a house party. Over 40 kids were cited for MIP. The majority of them were ND athletes. BFD. Being caught at house party has nothing to do with getting a DUI.
