Waiting for the first 49ers freshmen
"I kind of take that as a compliment," Lambert says about the rejections from the Big South and the Southern Conference. "They might be a little nervous to play us."
Pssst. Coach ? ....

You might want to check your schedule. You 'play' in the Big South whether you like it or not.

I wish we were on that schedule.

UNCC should have a good 15-16 losses under their belt by the time they play the Eags. Get me a shirt and I'll pull for GaSo in Charlotte.

I know I'm a fan of a school who just started football but who would be nervous about playing a start-up program? :?

Now I would think that they wanted to get the "easy marks" (at least in their view) from each conference (save GaSou) which would explain why there is no sign of App State, or Wofford or Liberty or Stony Brook or Chattanooga...yeah...real nervous I think

Here's how afraid we are.

I heard today from out associate AD that we called Charlotte as soon as they made football official and have not gotten a return call.

If by 'hate' you mean 'total lack of respect' then, yeah

We're smarter and better looking. We beat 'em in the classroom. We're much more fun to party with. We take all their women. Even their gays prefer our gays.

But they are Uptown; in the big city (actually, they are out by the county line, more a suburb of Harrisburg, in the shadow of the 'Concord' Motor Speedway, in over-developed urban-sprawl Hell).

BUT, seriously ...

Nothing really to be gained in playing them. They seem more interested in scheduling 'home & aways'. We can draw 30k with 'em, or we can draw 30k without 'em. If they want to come to Boone, pick up the phone.

And UNCC doesn't really want to play the Mountaineers at their 'new' home field. 1) They can't afford us; and 2) Their facilities can't handle us; because ...

there would be 20,000 App fans (if not more :D ) out-numbering their 'fans' 4:1 to 5:1 in a stadium built for 15,000. We didn't fall off the illegal likker truck, yesterday. Guarantee us 75% of the gate up front, and we'll talk.

Delaware
Georgia State
James Madison
Old Dominion

Appalachian State
Chattanooga
Georgia Southern
The Citadel

Liberty

...So 9 teams have bigger stadiums.

edit: 10 teams...forgot Furman.

OIh no, super competitive. Which is why your AD said you'll only play teams that won't destroy you thus providing an excuse for not scheduling us. Then you go and schedule Georgia Southern and Furman who will destroy you.

C-USA got a good laugh kicking you out.

We're all getting good laughs at the stupid crap Lambert and Rose are saying.

As for competing with us in 2-3 years, ask Coastal Carolina how that turned out.

I truly believe UNCC can be competitive in the FCS. I wouldn't say it'll take 2-3 years, but UNCC has everything in place to be successful. The only thing that's going to hold them back, and this is a really big thing, is the lack of a conference affiliation so far. Obviously Rose hasn't helped at all in this regard, but if UNCC can get it together and affiliate themselves with one, then I do think they can be another model FCS school.

edit: In year 2 (and 1), UNCC will be playing a CAA program. I guess we'll see if they're ready or not. :coffee:

lol where do you guys find this guy? Every time people start talking about football he pops up with "war this war that tradition military blah blah blah blah blah." what in the hell does that have to do with football? I mean seriously, great! Good for you citdog! Your military academy has more military officers than normal colleges. I don't think anyone here disagrees with you. Congrats on winning that argument with yourself. WE GET IT. Your college is older than America so there really is no need for collegiate sports. Citdog wins because he has been here longer.

...ever thought of trying another route to "scare" us over here at Charlotte?

The fact of the matter is that YOUR CITY IS A GROSS MONUMENT TO THE NEW SOUTH SCALAWAGS AND TRAITORS AND FULL OF PEOPLE FROM 'OFF'. YOUR COLLEGE, LIKE YOUR CITY, HAS NO HISTORY OR TRADITION AND IS A GLORIFIED ITT TECH FULL OF 30 SOMETHING SOCCER MOMS AND THEIR DOUCHE HUSBANDS. NO SOUTHRON WOULD EVER HAVE TO HAVE THE IMPORTANCE OF TRADITION EXPLAINED TO THEM. IT IS THE INTEGRAL THING THAT DEFINES US AND MAKES US AS DISTINCTIVE OF A PEOPLE AS ANY OTHER WHO OCCUPY THIS PLANET. MY MENTIONING OF THE BATTLE AT TULIFINNY CREEK WAS ANOTHER WAY OF SAYING THAT WE ARE GOING TO GO THROUGH YOU LIKE LEE WENT THROUGH HOOKER AT CHANCELLORSVILLE.
