I've only seen Richmond play twice, last week and this week. I know they dominated Appy and now Montana. Did they play poorly (by comparison) last week or was UNI a better team?

Griz still holding strong...could still do it...all they need is a score and 2pt conv., an onside, another quick score and 2pt, another onside, and score and they'll stuff Richmond and take their rightful place as FCS champs.

Since I haven't seen UNI play prior to last week, I can't really say...

I think the only reason UNI lost was they went too conserative in the 4th...

Fair enough...they're impressive...for a program with only 1/3 of the team from Virginia.
Remember that argument about traveling distances with regard to Western teams? Well, Maryland, WV, Pa & NC are as close to Richmond as Billings is to Missoula...

Close enough the coaches can recruit driving their personal vehicles, far enough away so the player's gang buddies car's can't make the drive.

urthpainter wrote:First to the subject at hand - Montana 24 Richmond 10. I'm basing that score on how the two teams have performed in the playoff to this point. If the Griz run the ball effectively the game will shorten, and not end up with an inflated combined score. The running game for the griz should set up the play action (as it has for the last 10 games or so). Richmond proved last week they can overcome at least one turnover, and that they players who can come through in crunch time. Problem? If the Griz play to their current playoff level, the game will never get to crunch time. Richmond may be able to keep the game close with turnovers in their secondary, but the hard hitting Griz will force fumbles - potentially in special teams as they did last week vs. JMU. X-factors - rain - Montana has not played well in rain, but I feel its a coincidence the Griz have not played well in the rain and not an actual influence by the weather. Perhaps the most important X-Factor is the venue. WHAT WILL THIS VENUE SCREW UP THIS TIME?!? No Griz fan will forget the Chattanooga field a few years back when Montana played JMU in the final game (obviously with artificial turf that will never be an issue again). But last years storming of the field by App St fans, well before the game was over, was perhaps the worst displays of sportsmanship this fan has ever witnessed. Even though I thought the App St fans showed their true nature, ultimately the responsibility falls on those in charge of the event - in Chattanooga. How will this game be tainted?

Oh... anyone wonder why there are so many unsolved crimes in West Virginia? Answer - there are no dental records and all the DNA is the same. ;)
First post and you are WRONG!!!

Congrats to the Spiders! Played with smart & hard and dominated a very tough Griz team.

Mariani and the Griz defense were game but O-Line couldn't stop the Richmond D from reaking havoc.

hats off to Richmond and its coaches...Montana was outcoached and outplayed tonight. in reality, after we didn't score on that first drive In response to Richmond's TD we were never really in the game. kudos to ward and his crew...excellent game plan and executed to perfection...I will eat my big plate of crow...their D line dominated our O line...especially once they knew we were going to pass.....depressing day all the way around...now I am going to go try and get a pity fcuk.

Why do you say that?...........Do you have any idea where to go to find up to date info on these guys. I found one, but i don't think it is up to date. It says Dudzik can bench 260lb and runs a 4.56sec 40. Matthews says he has become stronger and quicker since being a Duke.
