AE wins the Payton

Unfortunately, I just don't think there will be much of a demand when he tries to sell it in six years.

I don't get it.

But congrats to AE. Truly the most dynamic offensive player in FCS.

Truly a great FCS player who made a huge impact in the league. Not sure how he'll turn out in the next level though.

Congrats.

Ditto on the CONGRATS...

I don't think AE can sell his QB skills at the next level simply because of his size...but he most likely can be successful...

I've seen some suggest as a kick returner...or a hybrid receiver who has a passing ability...

Ehh, he probably will fade away, but then again, there is probably a higher success rate for players that win the Payton than the Heisman. One thing you can always guarantee about people who have been underestimated their whole life, is they will try to prove someone wrong. A lot of FCS guys get that chip on their shoulder early on, often overlooked kids from smaller high school programs.

Go AE!!!

I would'nt worry about six years from now if I were you. AE is a fine young man with a good head on his shoulders. He'll be fine.

If I were a fan of any other school besides Appalachian State, next year is where I would place my worries. The FCS still has to look forward to one more year of the APPS with the best player in our league at the helm...

Because he wanted to play QB, and several FBS schools apparently had their heads up their ass.

Call Clem's Son & ask them if they want him now. I bet they would take him in a heart beat.

Besides that, he's much better than that Richie Williams kid we used to have. Remember him?

Ouch!....seriously UNI T, AE's on dean's list, does PSA's, is not a thug in the least and is well-liked and respected by both teammates and classmates. Attempting to trash this kid only betrays your short-comings, not his.......BTW, ya'll won a NC yet?

Sorry. I never called him a thug. Did I? I was comparing his talent to that of Vick's. Both very good players. Congrats to him. I knew it wouldn't be hard to get a response on this one. :poke:

Now you are making a spectacle of yourself. If you wanted to congratulate him, you could have done so without the whole "six years" bit.

Sitting here trying to figure out:

A) Where UNI T characterized this Edward's guy as something other than a good citizen,

B) What UNI national championships have anything to do with the issue, and

C) Why App State posters are suddenly as sensitive as Montana posters.

Just don't get it.

 :?:

 puhleeze.....the implication was that AE would be looking to sell the Payton to finance a habit maybe or because he is ONLY sucessful on the field. The benefit of the doubt could have been given had he not then compared AE to Vick, as if Vick is the only QB who has running ability as well as why he wouldn't go to Clemson, a school not known for their sterling past with regard to following the rules. Sure the NC was a cheap shot, but try not to be too sensitive about it...it was only a dig in response to a dig.

Don't get me wrong...I think I, as much as anyone, can appreciate some ball bustin'.....and enjoy giving back as well.....no harm meant on my side, just giving after getting.... ;)

Well, I've never been sensitive about UNI winning NC's. Never will. Just happy to be a fan and alum.

An' I'm thinkin' we're inferin' a little bit more than we should from his statement, which was:

"Unfortunately, I just don't think there will be much of a demand when he tries to sell it in six years."

To me, that could mean he auctions it on eBay to raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network, the chairman of which he is, along with his day job as CEO of Coca Cola @ $11MM/year.

See what I mean?

It will come some day, guys. I'm not worried....or sensitive or envious. Long as they compete.
