Why didn't you guys schedule an NFL team that week? You do after all according to JBB have an NFL type defense.

I heard they contacted the Packers, Steelers, Vikings, Cowboys, Saints, Patriots, Jets, and Giants....all of them turned them down because they said "We don't stand a chance"

UNI has played in front of capacity crowds in:
2009 @ Iowa (70,585)
2008 @ BYU
2007 @ Iowa State
2006 @ Iowa State
2005 @ Iowa (70,585)
last year's game at Iowa State probably would have been a sellout too, if it wasn't rainy all day. Still drew more than the NDSU @ ISU game.

Not much else to do in North Dakota.

I also believe UNI has the top 2 ever attended games at Jack Trice in Ames.

I decided to take a look back, starting with 2004, at the attendances UNI has played in front of with our FBS games.
2004: @ Iowa State - 42,865 - Above average home attendance for the season
2005: @ Iowa - 70,585 - tied for most in Kinnick Stadium history
2006: @ Iowa State - 55,518 - SECOND IN STADIUM HISTORY - RECORD AT THE TIME
2007: @ Iowa State - 56,795 JACK TRICE STADIUM RECORD
2008: @ BYU - 64,108 THIS GAME WAS 101% OF THE STADIUMS CAPACITY
2009: @ Iowa - 70,585 - tied for most in Kinnick Stadium history
2010: @ Iowa State - 48,874 (Would have been higher but it was a miserable day, and was little to no walk up, and was still nearly 4K higher than the average attendance)

Jack Trice is nice but its on the smaller side. Those are decent attendance figures and you should be proud, "Proud-as-Punch".
NDSU is playing the Gophers in one of the nations largest Metropolises and its kind of a big deal. This is not Ames Iowa my friend!

TCF estimated capacity 50-51K, slightly higher than the MetroDome. Jack Trice 56-57K. Kninick 70K+. App State played in front of 105K+.

I dont think you have any concept of whats going on up here from your perch out there in the "golden state"
TCF is going to be rocking and its going to be all BISON. Its already a big deal boink-a-doink.

Never said that it won't have high interest on a section of I94. It will be a good regional matchup. Similar to two of the three Iowa schools playing - lots of local interest that dies out soon after the state border is crossed.
Kill will have the rodents playing much better than Brewster ever thought possible. Still, Kill is working with 80%+ recruits of the previous regime. It still should be a good game, just don't to try to make it out to be Boise State v Oklahoma or Oregon. Its not. (For that matter neither is UNI v Iowa or Iowa State).

Dont be ridiculous. What makes your view from the golden state the only allowable view of this game and how it fits into the National Scene? Out there you are getting the signals that it is a good regional match-up. Up here its a great regional match-up and the eyes of the nation are on this game.

The region obviously includes California and Montana. Do we need posters from all 57 states to make this game big in some eyes?
It doesnt matter who NDSU plays. As a top program in the FCS it has national interest. When you add the excitement of a BCS opponent from one of this formally great nations premier college sports conferences you have big contest.

North Dakota is not relevant in South Carolina. Nobody here could name either State's mascot or UND's. Then again, most people in South Carolina never leave South Carolina until they die.

Are you that dense? Most of America doesn't care about FCS football and Minnesota hasn't been relevant in many moons.

Jack Trice's official capacity is 55,000, that means UNI has TWICE gone over the listed capacity for the game.
The Capacity at BYU is 63,725
The capacity at Iowa is 70,585
Let's compare that to the stadiums NDSU has played in
Kansas - 50,071 ( vs. NDSU was 48,417...not even full capacity)
Iowa State - 55,000 (vs. NDSU was 48,831 on a marvelous day weather wise, still over 6k short of capacity)
Wyoming - 29,181 (19,568 vs NDSU...10,000 short of capacity)
Central Michigan - 30,255 ( vs NDSU 16,522...just HALF of capacity)
Metrodome - 64,111 (vs NDSU 63,088 in 07 and 62845 in 06...pretty respectable, but not Minnesota's record attendance)
