CULLOWHEE —
You can ask Western Carolina football players and coaches pretty much any question you like as they begin preseason workouts, but there are two topics about which they don’t have much to say: recent history and any potential pitfalls of the new pistol offense.
It’s not necessarily that they don’t exist.
The Catamounts and fourth-year head coach Dennis Wagner just don’t want to dwell on them.
“We’re in it to win it; we’re going to forget about the past,” redshirt senior Andrew Rogers, a tight end, said. “We’re looking to the future. That’s key. We’re going to forget about everything.”

Could also be titled.....WCU Tries Out New Cliches' to Prepare Fans for this Year's Likely Same Dismal State of Affairs.......(Coach Wagner excited about new players mastery of losing vocabulary..."It's like we don't even have to coach them. Their parent's taught them how to make excuses well....I'm pleasantly surprised with their grasp of the subtle nuances of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory"........)

Looks like the ASU/GSU/Wofford DBs are going to be receivers when they play WCU.

Hmmmm.
Western Carolina has won exactly 2 Southern Conference games since Dennis Wagner became head coach. Both of those wins were against the Citadel.

I think the last person that should be talking shit in a WCU thread would be a Citadel fan.

I've given this more thought....why not start with some optimism? Delusion might help them win an extra game this year.

3. WCU beat UTC 27-7 in 2008, Wagner's 1st season.

Yes...and if you've read any of my posts regarding our moving to FBS, I've stated this on more than one ocassion...the fact that our 3 yr run of national dominance was basically the result of one excellent recruiting class. But our continued dominance of WCU as well as SoCon in general is as real today as it was in 2005, 2006 & 2007. Try again TC...
But I digress....what helmet design has Wagner chosen to try to inspire the troops this year?

Go, Cats, Go!
I'd like to see a little Thunder and Lightening from the Whee -- just not against Appalachian.
