ISU has the best LBs in the conference?

Just because Storms is good doesn't mean they're all good.

Hudeen will also be solid.

And is storms that good, or were the rest of them just that bad? If Montana's D-line never got any tackles our LB would get 130 tackles a year too... :coffee: I'll put McSurdy, Tripp & Co. up against any LB corp in the country.

I'd put Zach Johnson and Tyler Washburn up against ISU's LB's.

Also not sure about WSU having the best recruiting class, either. There were some pretty good recruiting classes this year.

One other point about Storms (and I'd LOVE to have him in Griz maroon, BTW): But when your defense is ALWAYS on the field, guys are gonna get more numbers. He's good, but he's got more opportunities because of ISU's patheic offense.

WSU and EWU were the only 2 schools who got more than 2 star recruits

WSU got two 3 Star recruits and three 2 star recruits

EWU got Three 2 Star recruits and two 1 star recruits

He might have given the Wildcats the edge for having three star recruits :coffee:

These are East Coast guys talking out their rears about West Coast sports. A few years ago, they did a game preview on the Sirens that predicted a first-year team with no talent would beat the Sirens IN SAC.

They just have no clue on what's going on out here. You want a good prediction? Talk to SD or Kadeezy....

:ohno:

Not sure what site you're using, either rivals or scout.....but as per rivals. EWU had three 3-stars and 4 two-stars, or one three-star and four 2-stars, depending on how you look at it. I didn't include 1-star recruits.

3-star
Cody McCarthy (ILB)
Demitrius Bronson (RB) Trnsf
Andru Pulu (DL) Tnsf

2 star
Thomas Gomez (OL)
Jake Withnell (TE)
Jordan Talley (RB)
Quincey Forte (ATH)

Montana's DL didn't get many tackles last year either.

Montana's top 3 LB's: 273 tackles; 35.1% of all tackles; 778 total defensive plays.
ISU's top 3 LB's: 295 tackles; 35.4% of all tackles; 832 total defensive plays.

Note the difference in total defensive plays... not huge, only 54 plays. To catch Storms, Mcsurdy would need to be very efficient in those 54 plays. Is it possible that ISU's LB's are good? Also, Hudeen was good at Hofstra, had 78 tackles, 8 TFL as a sophomore. One last thing, Zamberlin was the LB coach at Idaho State... they were in good hands, Z was a former Patriots LB.
